Harune Odawara is a nice underground mall located just next to Odawara station where you can get bentos and snacks and souvenirs. It’s not too crowded when we were there. There is also a information center with friendly staff if you have any questions about the area.

We are travelers from Indonesia, and we are family of 4 (with 2 toddlers). It was a brief stop at Odawara station to begin our day trip journey into Hakone area. Carrying two large suitcase with 2 toddler and baby car are not easy. So we decide to store our luggae at coin locker. Because all the large coin locker are full, we were recomended by the Odakyu Train staff to try another locker located at the basement of Harune Shopping Mall. Unfortunatelly there were full too, but luckily an old lady see our trouble and point us to Yamato Takuhaibin booth located in the Harune Basement, a company who handle sending luggage and parcel. But they offer us to store our luggage until 8.00 PM or until their booth close. Its located just behind the Harune Information Desk on the basement. We do the classic Hakone Route, and on the way back on the Hakone Bus, my kids playing with my iPhone and when we got at Odawara station, she left my iPhone on the bus. We just realize when we want to continue our journey to Osaka on the Shinkansen. at the JR gate, we report the incident. But they only tell us that Hakone Bus is different company, they cannot help, they only provide us a telephone number that when we call them they operator only speak Japanese. We go back to the JR staff and ask what can we do, can they help us to contact the bus company and help us to explain the incident. They only help us by calling an translator and they can't do so much to help. The only explanantion we got only its different company. We are about to giving up and we still have to move to Osaka since our hotels are in Osaka. So we decide to take our luggage then continue our journey to Osaka. After taking the luggage from Yamato Transport, we just saw Information Booth and some sign English Language Staff. So we just give it a try. we don't expect to much since this are Information Staff on Harune, a shopping mall that also very different company from Hakone Bus, or Odakyu Train, or JR Train. We told our incident, and the two Staff ,Mizuho and i forgot the other name are begin to search the number of the Hakone Bus website, they call them and explain the incident and call several other number to get to the right person. we spent 15 minutes there and they tell us that our report has come in they try to find the bus, and if they found it they will contact us. They will need time since that day was weekend so all the bus staff are busy. Since we have to go to Osaka, so they ask where do we stay and try to contact our hotels if they found the iPhone. Fingers cross, kids are getting hungry since its already 8.15 PM the Harune Shopping malls are closing too. we decide to eat at the noodle shop just across the Information desk. Not long before we sat and order the food, Mizuho came again and she said, hey Albert we got good news for you, they found your iPhone and they are sending your iPhone here. So please enjoy your dinner with your family, i'll deliver it to you. Can you imagine what we feel that time... I said no, don't bother i can get the phone, it's already to much trouble we do. But she said don't worry just take care your family, you can feed your kids, i'll get it for you. then she leave us and like 5 minutes later she came back with the iPhone... What an Angel, the two information staff Mizuho and (i forgot), they are willing to help even it was not related to their job. But leaving remarkable impression on how Japanese people kindness. thank you, thank you, thank you :) God Bless.... visited on 4th December 2016
