When I visited Kanaya, I didn't go to Nokogiriyama Observatory because of the poor weather, so I was looking for another place to visit, and a leaflet was placed at the inn.
It was right in the middle of the Mononoke no Utage exhibition.
Thanks to the small size of the museum, I didn't get tired or bored, and I was able to enjoy the exhibition for less than two hours because I could take photographs.
There is no cafe, but there is a rest room.
Only museum visitors can stroll around the garden, so it will be more enjoyable if the time of year and the weather are good.

金谷のフェリーターミナルのそばにあります。
雨で、外よりも、と、ふらっと入ったのですが、思った以上に良かった、というのが印象です。
展示の内容の履歴をみても、こんなにステキなのやってたんだねぇ、というかんじ。
もっと早く知ってればよかったね、と話をしました。
特別、でなくても、身近にアート、な美術館でした。

鋸山に行こうとしましたが、途中雨が降って来たので断念。
急遽ここに変更しました。
あまり期待しないで行ったのですが、なかなか良かったです。

フェリーターミナルの近くにあります。地元の町おこしで建てられたようで地元からの寄贈品がたくさんありました。期待せずに入りましたがなかなか楽しめました。

地域おこしの一環ということで作られたそうです。大きくはないですが、「小さい！」というほどでもありません。金谷といえば観光地のイメージは全くなかったわけですが、そういう所にあるローカルな美術館にしては（失礼！）念の入った内装でした。...と思ったら、軽井沢の方の美術館と縁があるそうで、ただとにかく作ってみた、というわけではないようです。
庭や「別館」（土蔵を一部改装）への屋外通路脇にいくつかオブジェが置いてあって、こんなところに（またまた失礼）こんなモノがねぇ...と少し感嘆したりもしました。
ただ、今回行った時には、版画等の展示物のいくつかが、展示室と収納空間を仕切る大判ガラスの継ぎ目のところに展示してありました。と文章で書いても伝わりにくいですが、要は展示方法がいまいちだった部分があるということです。ざんねん。
近隣の散策マップ（？）もあって、それも含めてゆっくり回れば、丸１日過ごせそうです。
美術館に行った後にフェリーターミナル横の物産館＋飲食施設「The FISH」に昼食を食べに行ったのですが、美術館の割引券が置いてありました。

友人の作品展があったので訪問です。金谷から鋸山美術館に名前を変更ということだけれども、まだ変更していません。
なぜかと尋ねたら、ロゴがまだできていないんだとか・・・・

国道127号線沿い、金谷港の近くにある美術館で、外観はデザインに富んだ造りで、とても目立ちます。ここは町おこしで造られたそうで、寄贈品が中心のようです。周囲には観光できる場所がけして多くは無いので、行ってみると案外楽しいかもしれません。入場料は800円ですが、前売りで100円引きになります。

JR浜金谷駅から徒歩5分。国道127号沿いにある。
建物はコンクリ打ちっぱなし。近くに土蔵を利用した別館がある。
寄贈された/貸与された作品の展示がメインとのことだが、訪れた時は「堂本印象の世界展」が開催されていた（入館料800円）。
小さな美術館であり、来館者も少なかったが、地域に根ざした美術館として発展することを願いたい。
