I really think this zoo is way more better and enjoyable both for the visitors and the animals. Comparing to the famous zoo in Ueno, here the animals have way more space to go around and the visitors have more spots to watch at them. Very enjoyable with kids. I recommend you to go if you are around Kanazawa

Having been to a number of zoos in Japan, I was impressed by the size of Ishikawa Zoo and the variety of animals. Most animals also seemed to be relaxed and stress-free, and well cared for. It was very hot (35 degrees C) when we visited, so many animals looked hot and tired (as were we), however. It costs just... More

What a wonderful day out for all ages. Excellent range of animals, great enclosures with prime viewing areas. English guide layout map available. Many opportunities throughout the day to see the animals being fed. Restaurant offers variety and value. Great value for money.
