The tour itself takes about an hour, and focuses on the Ichiban Shibori Kirin brand, explaining the brewing process, what makes it special, and views of the various stages of the subsequent bottling and packaging processes. The tour winds up with a very nice tasting. The tour is free, but needs prior arrangement. We took the tour in Japanese, but I'm not sure if an English option is available.

I recently brought my wife and some friends here during Golden Week, and we found the experience to be quite pleasant! The tour is completely free, and it begins with explanations of how the beer is made, actual samples of beer (before it is technically beer) during the various stages of production, a mini-virtual reality tour of the life of a beer can, and some beer tasting with free snacks at the end! There is no English support besides an English version of the brochure, so non-Japanese speakers might want to keep that in mind. Also, it is a little difficult to get a reservation, as they fill up quite quickly and the reservation portion of the site is only available in Japanese. The gift shop at the end had great items that were reasonably priced and of a surprisingly high quality (we bought t-shirts and various snacks). Definitely recommend!

After a short train ride (180 yen, one stop) from the central Nagoya station we took a free shuttle provided by Kirin. The beer park provides a free tour that lasts about 2 hours. It explains the history of Kirin beer, and the brewing process. The tour guides do not speak English. But a simple hand-out is provided that you can use to easily follow along. Not to reveal too much, but it was interesting to learn Kirin was orginated by an American. The best part of the tour ended with several free samples of your choice (non-alcoholic beverages too, if you so wish). However, due to the 2-hour limit (and they are always on time), it was a bit of a rush to leisurely taste them.
