昔のメイン通りから一歩外れた場所にあります。時計修理で近くまで来たのでそこに車を停めて拝観しました。境内はとても狭くてイベントがある時ははみでちゃうでしょうね。でも木彫りの細かさやブロック塀の干支の彫り物などじっくり見て楽しめます。外出自粛の今ですが三

昔のメイン通りから一歩外れた場所にあります。時計修理で近くまで来たのでそこに車を停めて拝観しました。境内はとても狭くてイベントがある時ははみでちゃうでしょうね。
でも木彫りの細かさやブロック塀の干支の彫り物などじっくり見て楽しめます。
外出自粛の今ですが三密はない観光地です。

鎌倉時代から続く神社ですが、現在の拝殿は１９３５年創建

鎌倉時代から続く神社ですが、現在の拝殿は１９３５年（昭和10年）創建です。戦前はこの街にもゼロ戦などの戦闘機を作っていた中島飛行機の工場があり、従業員たちがこの神社に参拝に訪れることが多いため、航空安全も祈願する神社になったそうです。毎年１月９日に開催される初市では、巨大な焼きまんじゅうを焼くイベントがこの神社で開催されます。

伊勢崎市の歴史を知る重要な一つ

規模的には大きな神社ではありません。
拝殿の上の方に、戦時中に中島飛行機の社員が奉納したという木製のプロペラがあります。このあたりに飛行機の製造工場があったことと、この周辺が激しい空爆に見舞われたこと、旧時報鐘楼の空襲の跡が結びつき、この土地の歴史を感じるのに重要なものの一つだと感じました。

伊勢崎市にある大きな神社です。境内にある大きなプロペラは、太平洋戦争中、この付近にあった中島飛行機のもので、戦いに出た飛行機が無事帰還することを祈念したものだそうです。

JR上毛線の伊勢崎駅から歩いて10分くらいはかかると思います。近くに相川考古館などがあり街の散策の途中で立ち寄るのかいいと思います本殿は細かい彫刻でとても素晴らしいです。拝殿に大きなプロペラがあります。空の旅の航空安全だそうです

拝殿正面入口上部に大きな木製のプロペラがあります。これはSUBARUの前身である中島飛行機の社員が、飛行機が戦争から無事に帰ってくるように航空安全・渡航安全を祈願して奉納したものだそうです。

細密な彫刻が施されたお社です

駐車場に車を停めると「懸社」と彫られた石の門柱が建っています。そこから入るとそれほど大きな境内ではないですが、立派な拝殿、手水舎、神楽殿が目に入ります。後ろにある本殿は彫刻が大変立派でした。また拝殿の上のほうには大きなプロペラが飾ってあるのも特徴のようです。伊勢崎市の市民から愛されている神社のようでお、参りすることを進めれて参拝しました。
