Worthy of a visit
Apr 2019 • Couples
If you are visiting Tojinbo, you can see the bridge and island from the cliffs. The red bridge is more beautiful up close and this place is worth a visit for those sightseers. Just 10mins drive from Tojinbo and follow the signs. If you are adventurous, do take a hike round the island and you will see much more. Probably spend a good 1/2 hr at this place to soak in the atmosphere.

Quaint little red beidge
Apr 2019 • Couples
Beautiful seaside with little red bridge leading to an island. It’s nice and quiet to enjoy the sea breeze and deep blue ocean. Simple the best!

Good for a picture
Dec 2018 • Family
Our party stopped here for pictures. The bridge is famous worldwide. Unfortunately it was raining that day. There are nothing more then good fishing site on the island. You would need to wait half hour for the next bus if you are not driving. Free parking if you are in front.

Nicest visit of Oshima with quiet temple

Loved the quiet remote feeling around the island in particular the ocean side with its secluded path

The Magical Oshima Island
Dec 2018 • Solo
After visiting the Tōjinbō Cliffs earlier in the day it was impossible not to notice the red foot bridge connecting the mainland to this stunning little island. Only a short walk or bus ride away from Tōjinbō, this island offers a unique temple and shrine experience.

Situated in the forest off the coast, the island is a nature reserve filled with the blissful sound of birds and various nature trails - easily navigatable due to the small size of the island.

I was lucky enough to have the place nearly to myself and had an enjoyable walk around (winter visit). While still stunning the winter - with a wind and rain it is quite cold, as such I recommend dressing warm and have hiking boots as the path was quite muddy in parts. I’d assume in the summer the island would be even more stunning with blooming flowers and trees, albeit with an increased crowd.

A must see.

Small island but beautiful bridge
Jul 2018 • Friends
The island itself is very small, but the red bridge from the mainland to the island is very striking and beautiful.

ちょっと怖いけインスタ映えスポット Little bit scary but good for photogenic
Aug 2018 • Family

Good spot for Photogenic. There is a long bridge in Red and go way to the small island. The island is segregated from the main land. You can feel the real nature there and find out some Beatles (e,g, Butterflies). But the atmosphere is a little bit scary... it seems like that the ghost might be living.... If you want to walk around this island, you should take on the shoes because slope and bad steps. And also, there is no toilet.

Beautiful scenery and hiking route
Nov 2017 • Friends
Beautiful scenery and hiking route around the island, which takes about 30 minutes to walk around while enjoying views of the sea, rocks like those at nearby Tojimbo, a shrine, and nature. The bridge is also very impressive, and kept very red like the Torii gates at Shinto shrines.
The recent typhoons have caused some damage on the island, blowing over some trees and toppling a stone Torii gate, but the route around the island is still accessible.
I've heard that walking around the island one way (clockwise or counter-clockwise) is unlucky, though can't remember which, though nobody seemed to care as people walked in both directions.
The is one small carpark, free parking, in front of the bridge. Worth a visit if going to Tojimbo, and the weather is nice for a walk around the island.

Beautiful Bridge
Aug 2016 • Family
The bridge to go here is long and red and really beautiful to walk across with the ocean water surrounding you. You wont see many people on the island though as to my understanding its quite unlucky to go to this island with someone you love. It was interesting just to walk across and get a closer look at this mysterious place! A great place to add to the itinerary if you are visiting the nearby Tojinbo cliffs.
