I visited here recently on a wine tasting trip to Colchagua Valley. Case Silva is located about halfway between Santiago and Santa Cruz in Angostura. The winery is a beautiful estate, with a large tasting room. Appointments are necessary and begin with a short film about the family, estate and wines. Clearly large investments have been made in their facilities and there is also a large gift shop in the tasting room. We did the premium tasting but I did not find the quality of the wines to be that impressive - more akin to US wines in the $15-$20 per bottle range. We tasted the Casa Silva Reserva Sauvignon Blanc-2015, Dona Dominga Cuvee Colchagua -2009 and the Casa Silva Carmenere Microterroir de Los Lingues – 2008. They have a beautiful on property restaurant so definitely stay and have lunch here.

Had a wonderful lunch with local wine here. Very beautiful spot and great service. Big on BBQ. We sat on the veranda so could see the meat being grilled and then served.

This is a family owned vineyard, started from a french called Bouchon. The tour consisted of a 15 minutes video, a visit to the caves and wine cellar, and a wine tasting. It is quite interesting and they have a store were you can buy some souvenirs and all the variety of wines. They have regular selling prices, don't expect any special discount.

I came to the vineyard to take a tour two weeks ago, with my parents and with my girlfriend. We were offered a tour in English.

I was surprised that a professional and beautiful vineyard hired someone who barely spoke a word of English. Besides that, this young man knew absolutely nothing about the winemaking process, we asked and he not know the answer, in English or Spanish!

For the tasting, they offered us cheapest wines, which would be a cheap option in the supermarket.

In summary, the tour was a poor demonstration of the vineyard and I am ashamed to have taken my family. It was a waste of money, time and a disappointment.

I thought it was important that you knew about this terrible tour guide.

Fine wine tour exploring all the winemaking and wine-aging facility’s. A mark against the “monotone” and “machine” like way of our tour-guide. He seemed not interested or compelled in his work, or the work of the winery.

For nearly £40 (CHP33,000) I expect more than a five minute video, a quick stroll around the winery and four dribbles of wine - but sadly that’s all the top-priced tour consists of. Our host was friendly and charming enough, and offered us a taste of another wine - but this was only one Firth dribble, shared between my wife and I (we were visiting as part of our honeymoon).

The visit is a good thing to do and we suggest you do it by yourself. you can easily schedule on the website. We did two on the same day,, concha y toro and this one and we were using the subway.
Just to make it clear, it is not like a very deep visit, you will not actually see the production but it is great to spend time and get some of the story behind the place.

Such a great venue for lunch on a sunny day. Gorgeous veranda that looks out onto a polo field. Fantastic service, wine and food. Looks like a great place for families too as they have plenty of space for kids to run around and a kiddies menu. The tuna cerviche and the ribeye are incredible!
