Formby beach is a great alternative to the much more developed beaches like Southport, where the town runs right up the edge of the sand. At Formby the sand dunes and forest behind the beach are owned by the National Trust, so there is no...More

A wheelchair accessible beach with boardwalk. I'd come with someone else though because I small part was covered in sand. No toilets near beach so prepare! Beautiful beach and easy parking.

Had a lovely walk through the woods and went onto the beach. Unfortunately sections of the beach had numerous empty and broken spirit bottles, cans and rubbish. The fact you are charged to park there and it is a national park, I would expect it...More

I didn't see any. What I did see was plenty of well behaved dogs off of their lead enjoying themselves.

Indeed there is Karen, if you're planning on coming down make sure you're there early if the weather is good because it will be busy! But since our summer is over (unfortunately) you should have no problem parking in the car... More
