First time visit to Formby Beach, I was taken back once we walked over the sand dune, there was boulders and bricks all over the place, pieces of concrete with rusted steel rods coming out of it, this alone is a hazard. All of this has obviously been there for a long time, bits of rubbish strewn about, not a... More

Great place for walking with or without dogs. National Trust car park free for members but incredibly busy from early in good weather. £5 to non members

The whole family had a wonderful day on this clean beach, and explored the sand dunes and ventured into the sea. Well done to the many school parties who had a wonderful day also and took their rubbish away.

A relatively quiet beach most of the time due to the amount of open space. walk for miles in either direction or through the pine woods that is one of Britain's red squirrel reserves. It can get very busy on bank holidays

We go here quite often as it's great for letting the dogs and kids run around. There are the woods, sand dunes and the beach itself, all with their own different character. This time we were lucky and saw 3 red squirrels, after not seeing any for years. It's all very clean and well looked after by the National Trust.... More
