Feel the burn heading down Al's

The first slope you see from Chair 1, this one is a tough run. When the snow is fresh, it is great fun, and soon, everyone has carved it into a total long bump run. Your legs and... read more

Al's Run is the (usually) moguled run beneath the main quad chair lift from the base area at Taos. At most resorts, this run is a green or easy blue, but Al's Run has scared the daylights out of generations of visitors (many from Texas that have never seen a proper ski mountain before) and made them wonder what they... Had a great time here! AL was great and the rode up to the camp was even fun. The views were spectacular and we did even have to trudge up the hills on foot to see 'em! I highly recommend this group.

I've been going down Al's since I was young. No recommended for beginners , intermediate skiers or "timid on the slopes spouses"(instant on slope citizen divorce) Long, Steep and under the lift. Furthermore, there is no place to bail that is any easier or out of site from the base. Nothing can finish off a day of skiing like Al's... More

if you can go down Al's Run gracefully, you are truly a great skier! Don't be afraid if this is the first thing you see on the mountain - there plenty of intermediate runs that will give you plenty of thrills!

If you like moguls you will love this run! You better be ready because you will be watched by the people on the chairs goin up. Very steady and steep. It used to have a J bar lift when I was young and by the time you got to the top your legs were shot.
