I knew little about the details of this famous battle - this museum displays a very comprehensive step by step outline of the situation, which is enlightening for understanding the socio-cultural politics of the area. Great starting point before you visit the Ancient City

Taierzhuang, located in the junction of Shandong Province and Jiangsu Province, is the south door of Shandong Province and the portal of Xuzhou. The famous Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal passes through the whole region. In history, Taierzhuang is the hub of grain transportation between the north and the south. Taierzhuang will be the place that must be fought over and control during war period since it has a very important strategic location.
A visit to this Taierzhuang War Memorial will give you an insight of the various wars that have happened in the past and its importance. The is no entrance fees and it is free to visit. There are some parts of the museum still under refurbishment when we were there and thus could not see its complete history's display.
Recommend this visit for its rich history. Free entrance for the public.
