We enjoyed a lovely day out and a tour of the house itself, but not before tea and cake at the tearoom (imaginative array of vegan and sugar/gluten-cakes that didn't stint on flavour). The little museum was next on the list offering an overview of the lives of the famous Sitwell siblings. The gardens are extensive (tip: maybe decide if... More

Cannot find fault at all with this lovely place. The home of the Sitwell family. We had a guided tour of the house by a lady called Janet. She went out of her way to make the tour interesting and also amusing . The gardens are beautiful. With fountains neo classical statues, acres of parkland and many plants. We had lunch... More

Visited to celebrate a relatives birthday, the gardens are wonderful and the historic hall is a wonderful building. Didn't go in the hall as tours were not available on the day we visited, but the stables offer the Sitwell Museum with a wonderful array of memorbellia and historic information.,together with a video of family. There is a wonderful Cafe offering... More

Visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Quick entry into the gardens no cues. The hall makes a lovely backdrop for the gardens. With multiple different sections there is lots to explore. Blooming flowers and feature statues. The rabbits were very cute. After the Italian gardens there is the wider walks down by the lakes, we didnt have time for the... More

We went to renishaw hall to have a coffee, cake and go to the plant fair and i was pretty unimpressed. The nominal charges to both park and to even view the plants for sale were disappointing (and not included on the advertising posters) and there were no cakes left in the coffee shop. Very poor and i would suggest... More

Visited the Hall Gardens for the first time yesterday. Gardens an enjoyable series of "rooms" with different plantings in a formal garden, with pleasant views or the lake and the Rother valley. Repaired to the Courtyard cafe, sat outside in the sun, and had excellent home made vegetable soup and bread, Service efficient and friendly, so well staffed the waitresses... More
