Bicester Heritage is an old RAF base which began in 1918. By 1936, at the start of WWII, it was home to bomber planes; Hardley Page Halifax 4-engined bombers. My great grandfather used to cycle to Bicester to watch the planes, he later went on to fly Halifax bombers in WWII. The Sunday Scrambles happen several times a year. The air field becomes full of lots of cars, such as: Bugatti, Porsche, Astin Martin, Ford, Lancia and Alfa Romeo. Only on Super Scramble days will you see some of these flamboyant cars racing around the track. To find out more about what they do at Bicester Heritage, you can spend some time to admire the many work shops inside the old aircraft hangers. Make sure you take some cash to Bicester heritage so you can spend it on; mini toy cars, food, drinks, kids go-karts and more! If you’re feeling brave, why not go fly in an historic aeroplane and glide gracefully over the fields of cars! Guess what?! Dogs are also allowed to enjoy your day at Bicester Heritage. So make sure you bring plenty of water on a hot day for your doggy friends! All in all, a trip to Bicester Heritage will not be a day wasted! Sebastian, Age 8.…

Booked really early for the Scramble, so got cheap tickets. Glad I didn't pay the 'last minute' price! Got there at 9am (advertised opening time) but the site was already pretty full - would recommend getting there earlier to get a decent parking space, Huge number of cars, from all eras, but the majority were from the paying customers. Not much in the way of stalls/autojumble - thought there'd be much more. Lots of catering vans, but vegetarianism seemed lost on them. Managed to find a danish for my Mrs - but as an awkward vegan I went hungry. Good to have a look at the buildings and such, but to be honest, by 11.00am we were all done and on the way home.... Don't think I'd bother again.…

I live approx 200yds away from Bicester Heritage. I have been to some of the events held there and have to say they are superbly organised. If you are a petrol head then this is the place for you. If you are considering coming to one of the shows then you need to book early. What I further like about the place is that they have renovated most of the hangars and buildings in a sympathetic style keeping it as it was many years ago.. There is lots to see at the Heritage, housing many small specialised businesses in classic motor renovation. There are plans to develop the site further to include a hotel / track / workshops and museum and I for one look forward to it's completion. Well worth a visit for all the family.…
