Beautiful park, nice cafe - we come here often for a walk around and getting married here soon. Can get busy in Summer but there is still plenty of room to have some space for yourself.

Relatively small municipal park but tidy and well-maintained. Eastern half suitable for children and teenagers with play park and skateboarding, while oldies will prefer the more sedate western half around the bandstand. No facilities (either food or toilets) open on a Monday in April, but perhaps such things will improve for the summer and post-Covid.

Garth Park has two distinct areas, the quieter area is on the bandstand side of the park whilst on the other side across from Savour Faire (cafe) you have the kids playground and the skate park which can be a lot noisier.

A great park with lots of activities. It's aimed at 3-13 year olds and I saw kids across the full age range playing on a range of equipment. There are slides, climbers, a pipe wire and several tunnels. Some of the ground as real grass and some is fake grass especially for the mounds that contain the tunnels.
There's a cafe next to the park open from 9-4 most days but just closed for the day when we arrived so I don't know how good it is.
There are some water activities available on a hot day but very little seating in the shade unless you sit in the wider park outside the enclosure for the kids. Personally I don't want a fence between me and my kids so preferred to stay inside but lots of parents were taking advantage of shady trees outside so it's a choice.

As other people have said to the parking question, there is a pay and display car park over the road.
Is the park cafe open in winter months?

There is limited free parking in the bounds if you are lucky! Otherwise pay and display just across the road.

It's probably a 15 minute walk across the town but it is flat without any hills 😃
