Beautiful old city

Gorgeous old small Italian city. Highly recommend. Get a guide though as there is so much more here than what meets the eye. Deep history and under ground places. Great views... read more

Magical, enchanting and in places medieval ..... no visit to Lanciano could ever be considered complete without having included a leisurely stroll around Lanciano Vecchia. Narrow winding passageways twisting and turning through the rustic buildings, many of which have been loving refurbished inside and out to create picturesque photo opportunities! It is truly a trip back in time and absolutely... More

Gorgeous old small Italian city. Highly recommend. Get a guide though as there is so much more here than what meets the eye. Deep history and under ground places. Great views of the countryside. Everything closes down for siesta so we missed out on what appeared to be great shopping. Canadian Ontario school here!

The old town, Vasto. The shops are high end chic and independent. Handbags , watches and fashion shoos abound. They are all sympathetically integrated in the historic surroundings. May is quiete and most were offering discounts, bargain hunters get some in!! Strolling around, we parked initially on the road, we found the piazza Marconi, right on the edge of town,... More

The old part of Lanciano is well preserved and if you're lucky enough to have a guided walk, many interesting historical facts will be divulged.

We spent most of our time in Lanciano here. Walked everywhere around the town centre from here. Good location to find an apartment to rent from. Market day on Wednesdays fills this area and is worth a visit. Pedestrian zone. Bascilica has been restored and is stunning. Good fruit and vegetables, deli - other shopping and activities are limited. Easy... More

After visiting and living in Lanciano at different times over the years, I finally did a tour of the city and learned about the vast history. Well worth hiring a guide for the day. I recommend Antonio: adangio@hotmail.com He is passionate and incredibly knowledgable about the Abruzzo region.
