There was a big clean up two years ago now, I think, and it isn’t still much better than before. There is a problem with plastics still though and those awful cigarette ends which many bury in the sand. It’s a lovely beach and a favourite for us swimming.

This beach is a great one on the east coast of Salento. Its a little hidden, but just drive to the end of the parking lot and walk down the (prohibited?) staircase into the bay. I guess it can get very crowded in July/August, but its really nice in off season. THere is no bar etc, so bring water and a snack!

Puglia is an amazing place to go in vacation. You can find them truly old fashion Italian style for food and attractions and Castro is of the place that everyone need to visit . The water is just incredible ....clear as I never experienced before and in addiction super nice people always ready to help.

This was my favorite beach along the Adriatic. It's absolutely stunning and a true hidden gem - we were probably the only people there who weren't italian! Would return in a heartbeat.

Glad to see that the area is still quite clean on the beach. Sadly around the car park there is rubbish left. The water is clear and there are so many fish to see even in the shallows.
