Welcome return to the pub scene
Apr 2021 • Family
First pub for a while! We just turned up on the off chance with the kids and there were a couple of tables to choose from. Beer was great, food was great as well. We will be back....

Poor service
Apr 2021 • Family
Poor service and waited more than an hour to be served. The owner was very rude and waitresses had no manners. It was a disappointing experience and children seemed very unwelcome.

A nice local
Aug 2020 • Family
My son and I had nice typical pub food dinner. Good portions and quickly prepared. Attentive and friendly staff.
However some very noisy locals were sitting opposite and so we couldn’t hear ourselves think or talk to each other.

The best ‘proper pub’ in Crowborough!
Dec 2019 • Friends
Come here often either for an evening drink or for lunch. The beer is kept well and the food is always good and plentiful. Sunday Roast particularly good! Keep up the good work!

A 'Discovery'
Nov 2019
Having lived in Crowborough for 15 years I had only been to the Wheatsheaf about 3 times for drinks and didn't know that it was now regularly serving meals. Having checked the website we went for an impromptu lunch and it was pretty good. It was a cold day so the fires set in the eating areas were welcoming. There's a small printed menu for soups, baguettes & jacket potatoes for example. The main courses and smaller specials from a board, all at what I would call average prices We chose the fish & chips and the sausage & mash - both good. The service was good with only a reasonable wait in order to cook fresh. We'll go again now that we've 'found' it!

Lunch
May 2019
Went with a friend for a pint and a lunch. My first visit here and my friends first time there in fifty years. A warm welcome immediately pleased us, especially because my dog got a fresh bowl of water! We chose to drink Harvey’s Dark Mild, not a beer seen very often these days. It was well kept and served perfectly. I had fish and chips and my friend chose Sirloin Steak. Both meals were cooked to perfection, possibly the best chips I’ve ever had. The pub is tucked away on the outskirts of Crowborough in a residential area. It was my kind of pub, warm welcome, great ales and good food. I look forward to revisiting.

Good local pub with atmosphere, good grub and drinks

This homely little place is tucked away but well worth a gander. The food is home-cooked and fresh. There are no delays in serving it either. Beer (Harveys) and good ciders are on tap too. An ace place

The only real pub in Crowborough serving Harvey's beers and good food. Friendly company and staff. What else could one want in a pub?

A proper English Pub.
Dec 2018 • Family
Although quite close to where I live this was my first visit to see the Morris men doing the Mummers play. The staff very friendly and the ambience was just what you would expect from an old English pub. Real Ale. They do serve food but we didnt sample this visit. Would I go again, yes especially to try the cuisine.
