This was our last stop and the high point of our 50 mile circuit south from the Kyparissia Beach Hotel(including Fairytale Castle and Filiatra’s Eiffel Tower). This is a ½ mile world class beach in substance and beauty with a bounty of pure sand, crystal clear water and enclosed with bold yellow cliffs. In addition, a short but steep climb accesses the fenced archaeological site that contains the vaulted Tomb of Thrasimede dating to the Mycenaean Era (1680-1060 B.C), while on the far side, a long steep climb accesses Nestor’s Cave and a 13th-century Frankish fortress ruins.
We visited with the morning sun, parking along the sandy lane, avoiding the deep sandy overflow lot where only 4WD’s should go.

The beach is shaped like a horse shoe and while quite large I could see that it would get very busy. I visited on a Sunday in early October and even then people were dotted quite closely around the whole bag, so I'd be concerned how busy it got in peak season. Lovely shallow water and views to die for.

This is now one of my favourite beaches. The sea was so calm and warm in the bay. It's set in a truly beautiful location surrounded by the sand dunes and cliffs. It was relatively quiet when we visited in September. Highly recommend visiting.

Let's start with the positives. The beach and the scenery itself is amazing like heaven on earth with crystal blue waters and white sand.
Now the negatives. All the above are ruined because of the following issues...
-The road to go and visit this beach is terrible. Very narrow and small. Hardly two cars can pass and here begins the nightmare, drivers that the road belongs to them by driving fast or in the middle of the street, others that can not even understand the size of their cars, campers and van drivers (those vehicles are not for this place)
-Parking is limited and not organized which means that on the crowded days you are playing tetris and you should be very lucky
-Beach as it is already mentioned is not organized which is good but is also bad because especially on summer months is always crowded, one on the other, noisy and unfortunately dirty because most people do not respect and leave their garbage everywhere.
The site unfortunately has become a noisy nightmare and not the lovely heaven beach that you might see on the photos.
Never again...

A wonderful natural Greek beauty, so good it should be cherished is allowed by unintelligent and disinterested local authorities to be turned into a rubbish dump and polluted area. They have surrendered and given it over to filthy-minded locals, tourists, and yachties alike and then clean it up after the Summer as if this is sufficient. We were very disappointed. As for the near-by supposedly protected Natura 2000 nature reserve, we felt sorry for the wildlife. Nothing resembles the photographs!

Considered among the best beaches in the world, this is a very beautiful beach, with fine sand and turquoise water. The ruins of Paleocastro (old castle) can be seen in the distance. The water is shallow for quite a long distance, so it is very suitable for families with small children. The beach is quite large, so it can accommodate many people (and it is usually very crowded).

This is a quite beautiful, unusually shaped beach found not far from Pylos and Gialova. Well worth a visit, but be aware that you are likely to need a car due to the length of the small winding roads leading there. Also, please be aware that there are absolutely no facilities at the beach - no toilets, bars etc.

Sure, this is a stunningly beautiful beach. But because of that, it attracts the kind of people who think of nature as something from a picture postcard. So instead of enjoying the scenery, everyone is busy posing for their Instagram photos. To me, it felt a bit like being on a movie set. Maybe it's just me, but I liked the hike to beach much more than the beach itself.

The road from Athens to this part of the Peloponnese is excellent and fast. Made a last minute decision to travel here before the waves of tourists return. A real treat with crystal clear calm water and a beautiful view. As others have noted, bring your own shade as it is very sunny. Not an organized beach so you will need your own towels, beverages etc. Quiet paradise.

This is a famous beach with many impressive photographs circulating in the internet. We discovered it lately and we have enjoyed it multiple times.

A couple of things to know though:
1. The beach is protected (Natura). This means this is NOT an organized beach. The sun is hot, so you need to bring your own umbrella, tent, etc.
2. There are nearby cafeterias if you want a beverage in driving distance.
3. The waters are shallow for the most part, which makes it safe for small kids, but some adults may not find it so enjoyable.
