Fantastic experience
Jan 2020 • Couples
We did a one hour camel ride (wish we'd been able to do 2 hours) and had an excellent time. We felt safe the whole ride, the views are incredible, and the guide did a good job at telling us about the camels and the local area. The facilities here are excellent, everything is clean and well run. The hosts are very friendly and it is very reasonably priced. We were given a delicious desert herbal tea and tried the camel milk ice cream. The camels are very well cared for. Booking was very easy online. Thank you for everything.

Highlight of My Trip
Nov 2019
My husband and I spent 9 days touring all over Israel. We stayed at 4 and 5 star resorts, had a private tour of the Dead Sea, did an incredible group tour up North, ate delicious meals, and explored the cities…..and I think this camel ride was the highlight of the trip for me.

Ahmad/Ahmed (sorry if I spelled that wrong) was the perfect guide. He answered any questions we had, took photos of us with gorgeous backdrops, and allowed us to enjoy a quiet and breathtaking ride through the desert. He knew everything about each camel: how old they were, names, personalities, etc. We were the last tour of the day so it wasn’t quite dusk yet but the lighting was perfect.

If you are going, be prepared that this camel ride is not on flat sand (like I thought it would be). You will be going up and down rocky cliffs. The camels are very well-behaved and trained to know exactly where to go/what to do, so you shouldn’t worry. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart or anyone with extreme fear of heights, though!

I read an article before going on this trip about how camels at camel ranches tend to be very poorly treated. The camels at this ranch were roaming and eating freely, had lots of space to move, were not isolated, and seemed to all be in great spirits. You can tell they care about their camels here.

As soon as I arrived, they had my name and the correct time written down. I had emailed with them to secure the time prior to the trip, and they were organized and ready for us when we arrived.

Quiet and peaceful weekend
Nov 2019 • Family
Basic but very cute cabins. The place is very clean and well maintained. There is a lot of space for the kids to run around and to sit and rest or light a bonfire. Very quiet and peaceful, even when the place was busy we felt like we were alone. Minutes away from trails and attractions. Very reasonable price. We had a wonderful stay, highly recommended!

Superb Experience!
When I mentioned to my husband that I would like to ride a camel during our trip to Israel, he rolled his eyes and thought that it would be a gimmicky, touristy experience. This is certainly the case for example, if you sit (not ride) a camel on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem or other places in Israel where camels are placed explicitly to garner a quick photo and bucks from gullible tourists for the owner. The experience at the Negev Camel Ranch was none of these. Located in the Negev Desert close to the town of Dimona, it is an easy 90 minute or so drive from Tel Aviv (depending on traffic getting out of Tel Aviv). Upon arriving at the Ranch, my husband and were more than impressed with the facility itself. In addition to the beautiful setting, the ranch is clearly both a labour of love and a tightly run business. It is immediately clear that the camels are lovingly taken care of by their owners and caretakers. They exhibited none of the 'spitting' or quirky tendencies that are sometimes typical of camel behaviour. Quite the contrary; these are gentle creatures who are obviously used to human contact and handling. In addition to camel riding, there are modest accommodations scattered throughout the property. Although we did not stay in these and hence cannot comment, everything just looked so beautifully taken care of. The washrooms were impeccably clean.

You are greeted with yummy tea upon arrival. At the commencement of the hour ride, very clear instructions were given with regards to getting on and off the camels. The camels are in a seated position as you get in the comfy seat and then stand up (fun experience in and of itself!) There were six camels in our group, led by a very friendly and knowledgable Bedouin guide. On the hour trip, we were able to experience some of the beauty of the desert surroundings, have questions about the camels and the area answered, and have photos taken.

Nothing about this is scary in the least. I found the ride to be less bumpy than on a horse. Indeed, there were several children in our group riding with their parents.

All in all, this turned out to be a highlight of our 10 day trip to Israel. Other practical details: the directions to the ranch were extremely easy to follow and everything is very well signed. The cost of the hour ride is a very reasonable 75 Shekels per person. Highly recommended and definitely a unique experience that is not readily replicated elsewhere.

The best place to feel the Negev
Sep 2019 • Family
The Entire family celebrated The Israrli new year at The Camels Ranch.
We were group of 17, including two young grand children.
We enjoyed the place very much.
Tidy and clean huts. Great shared kitchen. Very comfortable shared toilets and showers.
We enjoyed inspiring camels back riding and very tasty breakfast for all of us.
The kids as well as the adults learned and experienced taking care of the camels.
The sevice is outstanding.

Negev camel ranch
Jul 2019
This camel tour is amazing. The views are stunning and the feeling is unrealistic, you ride in a camel for an hour and see the best views of the Negev (in my opinion) they are very king and welcoming there and they even give you free sweet tea at the end to top it all up. This was my favourite place to be when I was in Israel

Nice camel ride
Mar 2019 • Family
We came here for the camel ride and appreciated it a lot. Stunning view of the deserts. Some passage was quite steep and rocky. The camels are very calm but beware they are very tall! Not suggested only if you’re afraid of heights. Appreciated the hospitality, they also offered us sone tea and let us watch the camel cubs. The animals seem treated well. Good value for the money.

Camel trip and local dinner
Dec 2018 • Family
The kids wanted to do a camel trip, years after they had one near Eilat- the only available one here was 2 hours - the trip was good, but we hoped to be in control of each camel rather than be tied to each other... other then that it was a good trip. we slept in the place- it was warm and kitchen was well equipped ( cooked our own breakfast). but prepare for basic accommodation. we also ate the local dinner- which was very tasty.
It was a great afternoon and night in the desert, everyone had fun, and we even had time to go to Dimona ( the nearest city- few minutes drive) at night to watch a sport game
