Walls are covered in sgraffitis and it is unique and beautiful. Check the top of the chimneys too. The whole building is covered with those "paintings". Inside there is... More

Beautifully restored, right next to the Old Monastery, also lovingly restored. The architecture is finely detailed and a great example of Italian Renaissance architecture.

It was our second visit to the castĺe. This time we were so lucky to make a castle tour when there was a overhaul for the closing concert of the faumous music festival Smetanova Litomyšl taking place. Although we had not tickets for the concert (which is sold out long time ago) we could hear most of the concert and... More

There is mainly a Renaissance Castle, the Castle's Brewery ( the birthplace of Czech composer Bedrich Smetana), houses of the long Smetana square. Bedrich Smetana is the author of a cycle of symphonic poems "My Country". This spectacular musical cycle begins each year in... More

Beautiful castle completely covered by sgrafittos plaster and surrounded byl large park and french garden with statues of Olbram Zoubek. ¨ Nice interiors (equipment represents mostly styles of 19. century) and unique baroque theather. If you consider a visit, I recommend booking in advance, especially for special ocassisons.

For some reason this small town is still does not attract so many tourists and I wonder why. It would make a wonderful day trip from Prague. The chateau is amazing, the town has a beautiful well preserved square, they have a couple of good restaurants, they also organize a music festival in June. And still you get the feeling... More

The attraction is included in Unesco's heritage list and the walls of this building are unique in their designs and intricate detail. The surrounding area of this chateau are also worth visiting.
