Museum and gardens

This is an insightful museum to visit. The gardens are free to wander round and have some lovely statues. If you are lucky there may be an orchestra playing when you visit. The actual summer house shows the life and times of Pau Casala and is well worth the entrance fee.

Truly inspiring

I visited this small museum on the seaside near El Vendrell for the second time, and again I was impressed and inspired. The visuals and music are stunning. The museum is set in an awesome building with art and furniture. I did not know Casals before the visit but he made an unforgettable impression.

Small and lovely

A very nice and interesting museum. Entry prices are pretty high, given that it is, in fact, a very small exhibition. But if you are around, we would still do it, because presentation and content is very lovely and well thought through

Casals Museum is Just OK
Jun 2017 • Solo
For fans of the great cellist Pablo Casals, this is a good museum to see if you are in the vicinity of Sant Salvador, near Barcelona. It is not a 'must' and on the sleepy Sunday when I visited, none of the video or audio presentations worked. There are some facinating relics, like his letter to President Truman in 1950 protesting American support of the Franco regime. Don't fret if you miss this-- a better memorial is to buy his recordings of the Bach suites.

Man of Music; Man of Peace

Quaint museum about a man of principal who fought through music and peaceful methods to combat Franco, The museum tastefully shows Casals tactic to get the western democracies to discontinue their support for ally and dictator Franco

We were in the area or we would not have made the stop at this place.
It was interesting learning a bit about Casals and the home he had built.

Fabulous museum of a Catalon icon

Went here with friends yesterday after not being here since its birth some 15 years ago. It is is even better than before with a wonderful restaurant on the beach in San Salvador a short car ride or train ride from Barcelona away. This is a must see spot for any music lover of the greatest cello master we have seen. His life and his accomplishments are arrayed for all to see in his home by the ocean in a beautiful setting that had been restored wonderfully and including highlights of his amazing productive life.
I am sure that all music lovers and those who love the true Catalan life will find this a wonderful spot to visit. There is a very nice five store with some of his music as well.
