This wonderful museum is a short drive from Barcelona but is also easily accessible by train so there is no excuse not to go. Pau Casals is to music what Picasso is to art and Gaudi is to architecture. The museum gives a comprehensive view of the great musician and the equally great humanitarian. While the museum appeals to all musicians and music lovers, his humanitarian achievements make this museum appealing to everyone. The added bonus is the the beautiful Sant Salvador Beach. After an inspiring and moving visit to the museum, we enjoyed Casals beach which is one of the nicest anywhere. Also the museum staff were very friendly and outgoing.

This beautiful little museum is well worth a visit if you are in the area. It is set in the world-famous cellist's (Pau Casals) former house right on the beach and is a very emotional trip back through time with music as a central theme. One of those places that deserves to have more visitors - though it is a delight to stroll around in virtual solitude in the middle of August!
Have lunch/dinner next door in the restaurant of the same name.

This is a lovely tribute to the great Catalonian Cellist , Conductor , Composer and teacher ,set in the villa he built for himself in 1909 overlooking the fabulous beach at San Salvador.
The museum is full of pictures of him together with many famous people of his era (1876-1973)
in addition to various memorabillia associated with him. His famous cello , and other personal effects. There is a small theatre showing a video of him performing , and other presentations.
The villa is lovely, with a real intimate feel, and its contents never less than interesting.
The staff were excellent and very helpful. There is a small shop selling books and CDs , one or two rare items. Adjacent to the museum is a small cafe , and the villa has a nice formal garden where you can sit in the shade and contemplate your visit.
We admired the great man and loved his music, so for us the visit was a delightful experience

This is an insightful museum to visit. The gardens are free to wander round and have some lovely statues. If you are lucky there may be an orchestra playing when you visit. The actual summer house shows the life and times of Pau Casala and is well worth the entrance fee.

It is a very beautiful museum located on the beach. They show different informative slides in each room and also the speeches of Pau Casals on human rights. His music is heard in every corner of the museum. I was really touched by his music.

I visited this small museum on the seaside near El Vendrell for the second time, and again I was impressed and inspired. The visuals and music are stunning. The museum is set in an awesome building with art and furniture. I did not know Casals before the visit but he made an unforgettable impression.

Quaint museum about a man of principal who fought through music and peaceful methods to combat Franco, The museum tastefully shows Casals tactic to get the western democracies to discontinue their support for ally and dictator Franco

Went here with friends yesterday after not being here since its birth some 15 years ago. It is is even better than before with a wonderful restaurant on the beach in San Salvador a short car ride or train ride from Barcelona away. This is a must see spot for any music lover of the greatest cello master we have seen. His life and his accomplishments are arrayed for all to see in his home by the ocean in a beautiful setting that had been restored wonderfully and including highlights of his amazing productive life.
I am sure that all music lovers and those who love the true Catalan life will find this a wonderful spot to visit. There is a very nice five store with some of his music as well.
