we have been trying since March to fly and finally went on our 5th attempt. It was worth the wait! Sunday 23rd August in launceton with our pilot Mandy Dickinson who was fantastic! We were very lucky to go as the forecast was awful but on the day completely changed so a shock to say the least. We arrived at the meeting point and then moved to a local farm where we set up the balloon and had our briefing. Once in the balloon and taking off it was just amazing, one of the best experiences yet. It was so quiet and peaceful we went up to 2000ft! A lot more smooth than I imagined, you could see for miles. After the flight we landed which was also exciting! Lots of laughter as the basket tipped!! Then we helped pack up and enjoyed a glass of champagne in a field! It was nice to help pack up the balloon, it's just massive!! We all know how awkward the British weather is and we completely understand the reason for the numerous cancellations, I wouldn't want to be 2000ft up in bad weather! Best thing is not to expect to go! Which we did and surprisingly got caught out! After we packed up we got transported back to the meeting point, we arrived at 5:30pm and left at 10:30pm so expect it to take a while! Anyway massive thanks again to Mandy and her helper for a fantastic day!
