Nice day out

Had a nice day here. Nice little train ride took about 10-15 mins. When we got to the other end there is a big play area for the children with lots of different toys. Good for all... read more

My five year old loves steam trains and was captivated by the leaflet we picked up for this railway so we felt we had to visit. The entrance is unprepossessing and as my husband is a wheelchair user we didn't hold out much hope for him being able to ride on the trains. However, as we arrived the staff assured... More

Steam railways are always great fun, some are absolutely brilliant. Launceston Steam Railway falls into the latter category. Unlike most others, it is run by the owners and paid staff, without volunteers; consequently they are knowledgable, helpful, and go out of their way to ensure visitors make the most of what's to see and do. For most, quite apart from... More

Two miles of track! Pay extra to visit the play area at the end! Shocking value for money. Left really disappointed.

A great day with the Grandchildren riding the trains, smiles on their faces all day. The train was bright and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, the cream tea in the café was second to none. Would recommend this to all from 2years to 82years. Small museum with a good book shop.

Had a nice day here. Nice little train ride took about 10-15 mins. When we got to the other end there is a big play area for the children with lots of different toys. Good for all ages. There is also animals too. The only thing I would say is I think it is a cheek that you have to... More

A lovely few hours spent in around the railway & small museum & shop, a longer than expected ride on a lovely old car pulled by Dorethea, thankfully a dog friendly venue. Only slightly spoilt by the Adams family who were in the cartridge having their lunch, or should I say mulling food in their mouth & throwing it around... More

My wife and two year old love steam trains, so we have visited a few. Beautiful old station and the 2mile track ride is lovely. Yes there is a play farm at the end, but that's your choice to visit. Instead, we took advantage to ride as many times for the one price. Typical volunteers railway but overall staff are... More

My wife and I visited Launceston Steam Railway yesterday the 26th June, I am a steam railway buff and I was looking forward to the visit. It costs £10.50 for an adult which I thought was expensive. We then went two miles on the train and at the end of the track was a children's playground with not a lot... More

We visited this railway while on holiday with our 3 year old train mad son, we paid £29 for a train ride that lasted about 30 minutes, we were told when we paid for tickets, that if we stopped off at the farm, the return train would be every 20 minutes if not then they are every hour, this lead... They were late opening up, and the car parking was haphazard . £29 for a family for a 10 min train ride through trees is a total rip off. We thought we'd go for breakfast in the cafe.. But guess what... The cafe was vegan!!! Beans on toast was all they had... and the staff were unfriendly / rude and... More
