We stayed in the cottage next to the railway, which is so lovely and quaint. Everything you could ever imagine is here. The cottage and railway owners are lovely and friendly, and we had a few trips on the train, which both our daughters loved, including a trip at the front of the train. We will definitely visit again

No family holiday is complete without a steam train ride for the kids... and me. Don't be decieved by the car park, just duck under the bridge and you are on a lovely little platform ready waiting for your steamie. We rode the train twice, and as it was quite managed to sit right behind the engine watching everything. We... More

We had a lovely trip on the railway to New Mills Farm Park - the railway staff were friendly and informative, the scenery was beautiful and the museum at the station was well worth a look around.

We arrived around 10am which seems to be a good time to visit as it soon filled up. Nice and tidy station top with a great shop. Nothing was mentioned about the childs play area which you pay extra for but we stayed on the train and it took us back. We had a fantastic cream tea and the staff... More

Access through the car park doesn't give this place a very good impression, as its a bit wild. There is only 1 sign in the car park, and even that doesn't say where to go. Trains are every hour, with the stop at Newmill's by the Farm park. Fares are a bit expensive, but the train journey is peaceful and... More

Fantastic to see the steam train. The journey was only about ten minutes long but the ticket allowed you to travel as many times as you wanted.

I thought the admission was somewhat on the high side and was prepared for a let down as there are a couple of points that are not so good imho. However, I have to say we were pleasantly surprised by the good points and in the end I did not begrudge them the entrance price. We did think we could... More

The line is lovely as is the station, nice to sit with a cuppa on the platform. Friendly staff all happy to chat. Thought the fare was a little high for just 2 1/2 miles when compared to other similar railways. The station buffet sells pasties (amongst other things) and as we were over the Cornish border we thought we... More

We visited as part of our holiday with our young son and our dog as we knew we form the leaflet children and pets are welcome. We found the staff very pleasant, knowledgable and helpful, the gift shop was well stocked and the journey itself was great if a little short. The weather when we went was dreadful so we... More
