We have been visiting mui ne for over 7 years.
We get a 4hour taxi for $75 from Ho chi that’s how much we love it!
Sadly covid has really affected the area and the locals are struggling with trade lots of places have been forced to close. The Ukraine war also as it was popular with Russians.
Please use the local restaurants and please do tip!
To see what was once a bustling community now just barely surviving is horrible.

But the beach is still as beautiful and as clean as ever!!!
The easiest way to find it is via the Antarra hotel.
It’s around a 3mile stretch of beautiful clean sand.
It’s a haven for kite surfers and there can be upto 200 out at a time. But there is an abundance of space for walkers and kite surfers to share the beach.
It’s a great place to sit and watch them do their stunts!
It’s calm up until around 1pm then the wind picks up and the kite surfers come out.

The bad reviews are from people who don’t actually get to mui ne beach they are stopping further up the coast!!
My husband swims in the ocean every day we are there and yes it has strong waves at times, but doesn’t any ocean! We have never seen any bad incidents.
Mui ne beach has been one of Vietnam’s best kept secrets for many years!

Within walking less than 5 minutes on the beach in Mui Ne I saw a dead bloated rat floating in the waves, a dead dog and dead fish on shore as well as plenty of garbage in the water. The beach also had garbage on it as well as drainage runoff coming from pipes of nearby restaurants. There were few access points to the beach and for the trouble of trying to reach these area's it really was a huge disappointment. For health reasons I would not swim in the water here, not after what I've seen. I will be visiting the sand dunes tomorrow and hopefully that will make the trip here worth the time and money I've spent so far, but if you're heading here for the beach I'd seriously reconsider.

Garbage paradise! The hotel was lovely and my villa on the beach at Muine De Century had a private pool that was delightful. But I was disgusted by the piles of garbage on the beach, in the ocean and in many places on the road. I don’t get it as thousands bus here weekends from Ho Chi Minh City and act as if there was nothing wrong? This could be paradise if they cleaned it up. I suggest avoiding this place completely. The beaches at Hoi An were excellent and clean! I refuse to post a photo as it is so disgusting I don’t want to ruin your next meal!!

This is a big disappointment. I had often heard this was a much better option for a beach getaway from HCMC than Vung Tao. It falls far short. The beaches at Vung Tao are not beautiful, but there are beaches, not just stairways down to water. In addition there is a fun walkable city rather than a strip of hotels and resorts with very little walk ability.
The water has plenty of trash and is usually choppy enough to scare off younger kids.
This is definitely the most disappointing beach or beach area I've been to in Vietnam, a country I've lived in and loved.
If you are coming here for the watersports it caters to, or to stay at a resort with a pool, it might be worth your time/effort to come to Mui Ne, otherwise I would say you should choose from among they many other great options in Vietnam.

Visited here in Nov 2023 and all I can say is we have truly been catfished. The beach is absolutely disgusting, the sand is hard and the waves are choppy dangerous so you cant go in and the amount of plastic and rubbish around makes me feel ill. I honestly dont know where those photos on here are from cause thats not the beach. AVOID

As a resident in Mui Ne I never get disappointed with the beach , each time I visit it is just as beautiful as the first. Taking my dog for a walk in the beach is a pleasant experience as most of the people don’t get edgy around her. I would limit my time on the beach during holiday seasons though

If I could give 0 points I would. Literally the ugliest beach place I’ve ever been too. The town is horrible. We did hardly find any good bar or restaurant. There was garbage everywhere and no sand on the beach. So it was almost impossible even to take a walk on the beach. The fishing village has one nice viewpoint but that’s it. Besides this just loud noisy roads and garbage. Everything seems old and abandoned. On the dunes people go up and down by Quad, they don’t mind destroying the whole ecosystem, which is really terrible to watch. I’d never go there again, it was the most disappointing stop on the whole trip.

Me and my partner had been to HCM and wanted out of the city. Mui Ne popped up and we needed some sun and beach. We got here and expected better of the beach and the sea. Sea is very rough and wavy. The beach is ok but nothing special. We gave it a day and then began to enjoy our time here. If you walk along the beach far enough you will find a good bit of beach, the sea very rough everywhere though. I enjoyed playing in the waves my partner did not.
Kite surfers everywhere you have to watch out.

Little tip...My partner wanted to swim so we went in search of a pool (with no charge). We came across the pool house bar and restaurant. It was perfect! English guy had just taken over and still doing it up but all you had to do was buy a beer (cheap) and can use the pool! The bar had free pool table, football table and darts. Perfect afternoon here.

You can still see a glimpse of what this beach used to be like.... before tourism, erosion and trash. Don't come here, it's a big disappointment, we are leaving early even though we spent 80 euro on our room.
Don't think about doing one of the dune tours. It's a rip off. If you do want to see the dunes, get a grab to take you there.

Beach was filthy with plastic and debris, I do not understand why a culture whos main food source is sea food do not respect the ocean that provides their food source. Do they not realise the plastic they are disposing of is manifesting in the seafood they eat? Surely Covid was a time to clean up, even the restaurants don't clean their own areas and thats their income......senseless!
