I had heard from friends that the road is safe and good for driving. Although I am a good driver but when u drive with family with a small kid in your car, a person completely transforms. So i was little anxious to drive up the hill. But all my doubts were put to rest as soon as we started climbing... More

This ghat is good and starts from the place called 'Adivaram'. Only limited buses available from Salem to Yercaud. The buses will be full in peak hours. Better keep the bag in seat when the bus enters the bus pit Salem bus stand.

It is a beautiful drive. As you climb up, the wind speed increases and it cools down. There are coffee plantations. The highlight of the journey is that there are 20 hairpin bends in about 15 km stretch.

The 32 km loop road starts near the Yercaud lake, loops around, and ends near the lake. It shouldn't be confused with the uphill/downhill road to Yercaud. The loop road passes through villages, oak trees, farms and estates. The view of the valley can be witnessed in many points. The drive will be scenic with lush green and deep valleys.... More

I've driven on this windy road many times over last 10 years and have always enjoyed it. However, the road is suffering from lack of regular maintenance. Also, increased frequency of longer buses have made driving a bit hectic, specially around its namesake "loops". If you're not habituated to night or hilly driving, make sure you go up during daytime... More

Journey is ok, you will get the view of the entire salem city and the surrounding hill. Better to do the journey 1-2 hours before sunset, because the weather will be good and you will get a good view of the sky.
