Lovely seaside village
May 2021 • Friends
I love owenahincha. Darrells’s chipper was great and gave me a good portion of chips. He was very nice aswell and gave me a free chips because I accidentally put sugar on them. Although the beach is good I actually preferred the river opposite. Home to vast water sport activities such as rafting, paddle boarding and water boarding. It really is a hidden gem. I also met a few of the locals who welcomed me with open arms as if I was one of there own, Baz especially. Definitely going back when the weather is good again and couldn’t recommend a trip there more.

Very stony beach
Jul 2020
Our kids enjoyed splashing in the sea but it is not a comfortable beach to spend a few hours, extremely stony. An alternative if other beaches are too busy.

Calm beach with a lit of white sand! When weather is nice, you would say you’re in the tropics 🙂
We had an amazing day there!

Fab beach but Be careful if you are swimming here
Jun 2020
Tides can be very strong here. Do not swim without asking either the lifeguards or locals if it is safe to do so. A beautiful place though!

Beautiful sandy beach with clear blue waters; lovely on a sunny afternoon for a walk or to spend the day if really hot!

Fun beach to walk along - even on a rainy day
Jul 2019
We found Owenahincha Beach when walking the cliff path from Warren Beach in Rosscarbery. It was a chilly, windy, and rainy day - but we decided to beach walk anyway. So glad we did! Owenahincha is a long-ish beach to traverse. When coming from the Warren Beach Cliff Walk, there is a short distance of road, then you will approach the northeast corner of Owenahincha Beach. Because of the weather, the waves were high, the tide was coming in, and there were a ton of rocks on the beach. It was a great day to run along the water pools, collect rocks, and climb over the larger rock formations. We walked all the way to the end of Owenahincha, then took the path to R598, and continued walking until we came to the Fish Basket which is at the start of Long Strand. The rain had stopped, and the wind had died down enough, so we decided to eat fish and chips outside at the picnic tables for dinner while watching the surfers in the waves at Long Strand. After dinner, we returned to the Warren Beach car park along the same route we had taken earlier. This was a lovely way to spend a rainy evening in Ireland.

So lovely on any day

Beautiful especially when the weather is so good. Nice and clean. Safe and it’s quiet small this beach but the next beach down is much bigger, safer & busier.

Nice beach
Jul 2019 • Family
Owenahincha beach is located five minutes from Rosscarbery. It can be reach by car, or through a scenic walk from the Warren beach. It is a lovely beach for a walk, although I wouldn’t say it is suitable for swimming as the waves can be very strong.
