I have been to many cultural shows over my years of travel, but this was one of my favourite. The dancing was good, but the a Capella singing was beautiful. Then came the sword dancing. It was fabulous. Blood was actually spilt. Lots of clanging of swords and sparks flying. A great show. Get there early to get a seat... More

100kn entrance for a show lasting an hour. I am glad we went to see a unique show that has been performed in Korcula for hundreds of years. Two sections of dance performance with a very pleasant female accapello (spelling?) group in between. The second section features a sword fight dance which is brilliantly performed - a very energetic dance... More

We were a little disappointed with this event. The local singing before the event was boring and completely unnecessary and unadvertised. The sword dancing was good, but not excellent like expected.

Korcula is the only place in the world they do the sword dance. Performed right off the walls of Korcula town everyone enjoyed the performance. I recommend you sit in the back in the unlikely event there is a problem.

At first I hesitated that it might be just for tourists but I thought why not give it a guy since the price was right.Well I'm glad I did. It was quite impressive . The costumes were elaborate. The live string music added to the story of love and conflict. The battle between the two armies was dramatic with double... More

We were lucky enough to see the first performance of the 2016 season for the Moreska Sword Dance. The sword dance is performed by local Korcula men (and one woman) continuing a local tradition spanning nearly 400 years. The costumes are great and the swords, while short, are very real and swung with precision. The dance is performed out doors... More

The original war dance originated from the rich cultural history and oral tradition, but in the nature of the struggle for love between good and evil, or in old age struggle between the Ottoman invaders and host defense attorney, was designed as a war dance with the use of a machete during the dance from which sparks fly. I highly... More

Enjoyed by us as well as our children, 11 and 13. Choreographed sword dance. Held at night so you can actually see sparks fly as the swords clash. One guy's hand got cut, so he kept having to mop it up!!
