Visited and did the tour, the Lakes distillery is a good place to visit the our is very informative and ends with a tasting session, there is a nice gift shop and an excellent cafe / restaurant with a good menu, well worth a visit.

Depending on the crowd, they schedule the tours from 1000-1800, would be better to confirm prior on phone before so that there are no disappointments.

Armathwaite Hotel is very close, I have never stayed there as we have a motor home but have heard good things about it
