I traveled here specifically to see the Osprey, having searched where best to see them in England. I did see one but so far away was not worth the journey. Very disappointing. The woods and other wildlife was very nice.

Excellent place for a walk through the woods, we did two of the routes red and yellow and both times the routes are well signposted throughout. Plenty of parking but it does fill up quickly. Both my 7 year old and 4 year old got to the top with very little walking experience so these routes are good for beginners.

Excellent well-signposted walks through the woods to the top of Dodd, about 1500'. plenty of car parking at the start and a well stocked small cafe - plenty of outdoor seating in these Covid times. Most of the walks are through woodland but the top is open with great views on a clear day. Lots of people walking dogs. Osprey viewing available in season, you might also a red squirrel.

We went as a family group with dogs and took to long route to the summit. There’s little relief on the way up, the trail starts off going up and keeps going up and up! It’s very much worth it though and fairly manageable to do as long as you are okay with a fairly steep incline and have some outdoor walking experience. The trails are clearly marked and there’s plenty of space in most places to walk as a groups. However when I looked back at my own fitness tracker the distance was a fair way further than the trail stated. We managed the full loop in 2 and a half hours. The car park isn’t cheap but well organised and a fair few spaces. Well worth a visit.

This is a great place to walk with various paths to choose from. We chose the most difficult but not that hard as.our 9 year old managed. The only downside was that the osprey viewing areas were not signposted which was disappointing
