Quick rum stop

Quick stop at the Tortuga Rum Factory on our Clark's Tour. We got to sample rum and by rum and cakes. Weren't there for long, just some sampling and buying.

I went to purchase some rum cakes here and the staff was very rude and unfriendly. Staff didn't want to honor the coupons given to us on the cruise ship for discounts at that store even after a whole group of different customers told them they had to honor them. They still refused. Will never go back.

We were able to look through a large window to see how rum cakes were made. There's no formal tour, but there is a tasting area to sample the different flavored of Tortuga rum. We likes the vanilla, coconut and mango rums, but decided to just purchase the rum cakes which were delicious. There's also a caged area on the... More

This was a big disappointment. We stopped in because we wanted to see how rum is made. Tortuga Rum isn't made in the Cayman Islands -- it's made in Jamaica. Yes, the rum cakes -- which are delicious -- are made here, and for about thirty seconds, it's interesting to watch them make the cakes. But you're staring through a... More

Visited the Tortuga Rum Cake factory briefly on a tour excursion! We were offered numerous samples of different flavors of rum cakes. Very delicious! The chocolate rum cake was my favorite. We also samples a bit of rum while we were there. We had the option of purchasing cakes to take home which we did not. And I do regret... More

This is not a factory, and there is no tour (contrary to some claims elsewhere). You can sample rum cake and rum while visiting. They had two flavors of rum cake while we were there (banana and pineapple, I think) and one type of rum. They also allowed us to try some candy--a take on chocolate turtles with rum-flavored caramel--which... More

Oh man, this rum cake is amazing. And the sample(s) of rum were delicious. Banana Rum was my favorite which says a whole lot since it would've been the last I'd have chosen if given a choice. The shop was small but had volumes of merchandise inside. The workers were patient and courteous even though they were overflowing with customers.... More

We stopped to sample the rum cakes and other goodies inside. They were so swamped though, that it was hard to get a taste! Lots of fun statues, and critters to keep the kiddo's entertained while shopping. Great stop for a snack and right on the beach. We had to come home with some rum!

Loved sampling the Tortuga Rum Cake and Rum. There are lots of flavors of rum cake to sample and several different rums to try. Check out the birds in the aviary outside.

We like the key lime and coconut varieties of their rum cakes. Pineapple was not a hit with us. They will give you samples. You can see into the factory. Their gift shop has a moderate amount of items to choose from.
