Description:

The Cayman Motor Museum, located on Grand Cayman in the Cayman...

The Cayman Motor Museum, located on Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands, is a unique attraction that features some of the world's most special, rare, and one-of-a-kind automobiles. On display are 80 vehicles which collectively provide an historical tour of motoring throughout the world—beginning with the very first automobile ever produced, an 1886 Benz! An exact model of the first vehicle ever to be driven in the Cayman Islands — a 1905 Cadillac — has a place of special prominence in the museum.Of special interest both to children (and “adult children”) is the ultimate crime-fighting vehicle, the original “Batmobile” that squired Batman and Robin around Gotham in the 1960s television show. An exact replica of the “Batcycle” is also on display. Moviegoers will recognize the 1929 Yellow Rolls-Royce that appeared in the movie of the same name, and “royal watchers” will be attracted to the 1956 Daimler DK400, Queen Elizabeth II’s first limousine.Racing and speed aficionados will marvel at the sleek Ferraris (nearly a dozen classics, all in mint condition), Maseratis, Corvettes, and Jaguars. Magnificent Rolls-Royces (including a 1930 “Phantom”) and Bentleys (including Sir Elton John’s 1963 classic) abound, beckoning viewers back to an era of meticulous craftsmanship and unsurpassed luxury. The Museum is a great cruise ship excursion or a great place to spend an afternoon while on vacation to the Cayman Islands. Our gift shop offers unique auto memorabilia and souvenirs to the general public. The Cayman Motor Museum is also available for private functions and special events.

The Cayman Motor Museum is a gem of a collection. With the cars well displayed and presented with lots of information it was very interesting to see the cars and learn the history about them.

My husband is a car enthusiast. He has a small collection of his own and when he found out this was on the island, we had to go. I think what is most impressive is that the entire collection of cars belongs to one person. One really cool thing to see here is the first car that ever made in... More

After checking it out on the website, we drove all the way to the West Bay Area only to find it was closed due to reorganization. The website led us to believe it would be closed in September. It was one of the places my husband really wanted to check out. I would suggest calling before you make the trip... More

This private collection of vintage cars and all sorts of memorabilia is beautifully brought together and presented. A perfect place to visit for all ages, especially if you have had enough sun or it is raining.

Had my 9 year old son all excited to see one of the original Batmobiles only to be disappointed twice. 2 years in a row we tried to go, the first it was closed for remodeling and this time we found out it was closed permanently.

The place is very well done, and has some fantastic cars! It's not a tremendous place, so don't expect a long stay.

This museum is now closed but when it was open was a great attraction with all the cars, motorcycles and boats on display and the first car on the island.

So maybe its permanent. At least that was what the post below said. However there are no Twitter or web updates to that effect. Make sure it's open before venturing to the museum.
