Have come here a few times now and love it every time. The “traditional” hot chocolate is unrivalled and the food is always so tasty - we enjoyed a chocolate & almond croissant this time which filled us both up.
The staff are lovely and easy going.
Prices are reasonable too.

After arriving yesterday I went exploring the village this morning and called at Cabosse after reading great reviews about their hot chocolate.
Met with friendly welcoming faces :-)
On a rainy morning this was just what I wanted so ordered this along with an almond croissant.
Both were fantastic, the hot chocolate was ‘proper’ hot chocolate and walking back in the rain was comfort in a cup. Unfortunately I had to share my almond croissant when I got back to the cottage, think I need to hide it next time.
Make sure you visit x

Especially in these times, Cabosse is worth a visit. All of the pastries and most of the chocolates are made on the premises by the owner/proprietor, Louise.
She is French trained in both fields and the quality shows. It’s like walking into and French patisserie.
At the rear is a delightful area called the “Library “ and you can enjoy all on offer in lovely surroundings. Strict Covid guidelines are maintained at all times.
Apart from freshly made Illy coffee there are other superb choices. Our new favourite is Moroccan mint tea with honey, it is gorgeous and so refreshing.
Just love this place, treat yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

Bought two ice creams and spent eight pounds on eight chocolates. The Ice cream was reasonably priced and really good quality.
The chocolates were, in flavour and quality, just a bit below Cadbury's Roses, while in price they were a bit above Le Chat Bleu (probably the best chocolatier in the world). Something wrong with the business plan I think.

Firstly- check out Issy12's review below- this is spot on!
To add our tuppence worth- we have been here on a few occasions , being one of the few independent places in Warkworth that we feel we should support/visit.
We went February 2015 and it feels like there's been a change of ownership/management as the chocolates and cakes seemed different and not as good as before. There is still a VERY limited menu ( 2 quiche selections - extra for salad garnish!- and croissants if you're lucky.)
The staff seem a little disorganised- and they're not sure of the menu as is pointed below- we requested two quiche and she reeled off the rest of the menu (including pizza slices...)
Slightly over priced (£4 croissant, £4 quiche) but the biggest issue is that this is a bit of a draw in a very nice place but is woefully small- tables cramped in and no attempt to update or make it comfortable. even low tables and sofas/comfortable chairs would do.

Small choice of patisserie - but well made. excellent creme brulle as always. Mixed opinions on the almost frozen black forest gateau and orange chocolate tart.
So- a bit disappointing and probably won't bother again.
Must try harder! Sorry but just being honest.
(if you agree please like my review...)

we thought we had ordered a pot of tea for two, but instead we were given a teapot of hot water and two tea bags to dunk. This we found was not what you would expect, we could have sat in the car and done this for ourselves and the price was high for that privilege.

Hot chocolate as I’ve described before, except that this time, they didn’t bring the jugs of hot milk until my husband had already finished his drink, and my daughter and I were half way through ours. This spoilt it, because it needs that milk to dilute the richness. There are six tables, three waitresses, and they were completely and totally inefficient. One of the waitresses came out to apologise when we were paying, saying that they’d not coped because they’d been busier than they’d expected!!! Six tables, three waitresses – do the maths.

The front room of this little shop sells chocolates and glorious desserts/pastries to take away. The back room is a small cafe, selling hot drinks and light lunches. We ordered the hot chocolate, and were warned it would take about 15 minutes to prepare....because the chocolate has to be melted before it can be served! It came with a jug of hot milk to dilute it - this was needed, it was very rich, but it was oh so good. The best we have ever tasted, and we've tasted some good ones.
We visited 20 months ago, but we're hoping to go again soon, so hopefully I'll be able to write another more up to date report then.

The best hot chocolate ever. Properly thick, proper hot chocolate, made with chocolate. I got some of their lovely hand made chocolates also. I snook one outside the shop, it was lovely.

We popped in here while visiting the area and I had the hot chocolate and brandy. It was the BEST hot chocolate I've ever had in my life! It was to die for! I can't express just how good their hot chocolate and brandy is, if you're in the area you MUST pop into here! The staff were very friendly and pretty too!
