Palma de Mallorca Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour with Optional Boat & Belver Castle

258 reviews
Palma de Mallorca offers many sights, but viewing them all can be a challenge. Avoid the rush of a typical tour and relax on board a sightseeing bus that passes the city’s beaches, markets, and major monuments, including the Grand Cathedral and the Bellver Castle. Follow your own itinerary at a pace that suits you, hopping off or on as you like, or upgrade for an additional boat cruise or included entry to Bellver Castle.

We really liked this place. It was an interesting visit to a place where time has stopped. The property is really beautiful with small mossed waterfalls and even a small grotto/cave. We visited La Ganja in March and even though there were other visitors, we got the place to ourselves and saw practically no one during our tour. Ended up buying local jams from the gift shop as a souvenir (for us ;)

We decided to visit on a damp day in November based on the leaflet information. When we arrived the setting did look lovely and the garden was interesting from afar. The restaurant was closed, the cafeteria showed a certain reluctance to serve us, the staff were not at all informative about the access and where the access was. We had one person who was disabled with a whellchair but able to cope with some walking. The house is completely unaccessible to anyone with disability and again the staff who were there were totally disinterested in helping or advising. The part of the house we visited was rather down at heel, no comparison to a National trust property - everything was looking rather worn and not cared for.

We started in the cafeteria, to be “welcomed” by a rather surly gentleman who was not very happy to serve us. The tour of La Granza followed. The house, contents and estate were probably superb 20 years ago but by today’s standards it all feels rather tired and uncared for - with very little indeed by way of explanation of the exhibits. It feels very much as if all owners passion for the place expired some time ago. PS: in a digital age trying to sell you your (unasked for) Photo really does not work anymore!

We visited on recommendation from our hotel but probably did not choose the best day due to the rainy weather. We felt it was expensive even with a pamphlet discount & there were no senior rates. There is a lot to see but a shortage of information on many of the exhibits & it all seemed a bit mixed up with no clear definition between the areas. I am not sure there is much to interest children other than a few animals. We did try the food samples but were not offered any wine & there were no demonstrations, again probably due to the weather. However had it been a hot sunny day the we would have spent time in the gardens & possibly been inclined to stay longer & have some lunch in the cafe or restaurant.

Went on a recommendation. Beautifully located old country estate about 30 minutes drive from Palma. Fascinating tour through the house and grounds giving an insight in to how an old estate was run and life in the past. Loads to see and of huge interest if you like history. Self guided tour ends with a chance to sample local wine and some local produced snacks which were really nice (not the wine, that was awful). Pleasant little cafe. I'd probably not recommend for small children. I think they'd be easily bored although there are a few animals such as goats and donkeys to admire.
