The Best Kite & Stay Experience in Asia. Phi's local knowledge, professional team on the beach and in the kitchen, provided us with a memorable 10 days in kitesurf paradise- Phan Rang, Viet Nam. Beit from the comfort of beach hammock, skimming the flat lagoon, or frothing amongst the waves, Phi's Kite School provided us with ear-to-ear grins and great food and company in the evenings to top off the long days on the water. On the light wind day, we explored the adjacent national park and its idyllic waterfalls and jaw dropping coastlines by moped. Until I return, Viet Nam- Anh Dep Lam.

Made a stop here riding from Da Lat onwards to Nha Trang via the coast road. Didn’t really want to be in the city and learning kite surfing wasn’t on my agenda. Stayed in an ocean facing room/bungalow. Spacious bathroom and the sink had enough room to spread out your razor and toothbrush for once :) The place was exceptionally quiet for Vietnam-no roosters, racing scooters or karaoke or construction! Yay. Chatted with the owner, Phi, briefly. Nice guy and he arranged for one of his workers to wash my filthy Honda. Thanks!

This is the best kite spot i have been to, absolutely amazing! Everything is here for you, right on the kite beach, great resturant, wifi, school, shop and kite repairs, bar and really good atmosphere. Conditions here for kitesurfing are great, with a huge flat water lagoon and fantastic reef break out about 600 meteres. If your looking for a kite spot in Asia, Phi's Kite cant be beat, this place is now a must visit for me every year.

Situated perfectly on the My Hoa Lagoon, you have beach front access to the a shallow flat water lagoon with a consistent reef break 500M from the beach. There's year round kiting with the exceptions being April and September when the wind can be less predictable. The shallow lagoon is ideal for learning and freestyling. It's a sand bottom however there are occasional rocks so booties with a decent sole would be handy. (The school has some shoes available for lessons). During the low season (May-Sept) the wind comes from the South. There are two other kite centers which have recently opened on the lagoon. Only Phi Kite School and Sorento are open during the low season. We met a kiter who was staying at Phan Rang Kite Center. They took his booking but failed to tell him that the center was actually shut so no food or amenities available!!! Food at Sorento is great! Nice place to chill after a kiting session but the lagoon infront of the center is really rocky and is cris-crossed with pipes from the neighboring shrimp farms pumping their waste out. When they sort out the pipes, Sorento will be a great place to go. At Phi Kite School you have secure storage facilities for kites and boards, racks for wet gear, a small shop and a restaurant and bar. The menu is a little limited with a range of western and local dishes but what is produced is good and tasty.

Great wind 6 days out of 7 Great instruction 7 days out of 7 (highly reccomend Dima as a very chilled and dedicated instructor) Great food 7 days out of 7 Great service and hospitality 7 days out of 7. We flew to Cam Ranh, where we were met by the driver. Tip: get the data sim from any of the stores or money exchanges. Change a bit of local currency if you need to but contact Phi before you travel to confirm that you can pay in US$ or Euros as the exchange rates Phi gave were better than the airport. After 1.5 hrs of a relaxing drive past rural landscape and national park, you'll arrive at Phi Kite school. There are different accommodation options available, we were in the cute "hobbit" type huts which were fantastic! Small space but cleverly designed with hidden storage and well thought out room plan. Airco was great, good shower and the wifi was reliable. The huts are very new and the furnishings reflect this. Comfy bed which allowed for lots of good sleep after a day's kiting. The big plus is that whoever designed the huts actually thought about power sockets for charging phones, ipads etc so you don't have the usual reaching behind the fridge* or tv to unplug things. *also a good sized fridge in the room and a hairdryer. Food is something of a treat. It's debatable whether the menu is extensive or limited but we varied our choices and enjoyed every meal. Tip: ask for the cake of the day. It's a real treat but get it early as it is popular and is finished quickly. Opposite the school is a small shop that sells drinks, snacks and some other general items. Here you'll need to use local currency. The vibe at Phi Kite School is like any other good surf club, chilled, friendly and easy to get along with other kiters. Phi and his staff are always busy getting things done for the guests and manage to accomplish this with genuine helpfulness. You don't feel like you're a guest in a commercial business, but you're made to feel like you're part of the club. The equipment was abundant and in great condition. Cabrinha and F1 kites with Pryde harnesses and other kit. Storage for those with their own kit was in secure lockers with other facilities including showers, onsite shop along with onsite kite repair and board shaping / repair. Phi Kite School was the first in this area, since then, a couple others have opened. You know it's a good formula when others try to imitate...simply copying can never be better
