About
This beautiful and accessible beach is known for its powder-like shores, warm Caribbean waters, and the off-coast barrier reef that protects the beach from wild Atlantic swells. You won't find much seaweed, rocks, or pollution here—this untouched beach is part of the protected area of Princess Alexandra National Park. Here, you can sunbathe on the soft white sand, walk along the seemingly endless stretch of beach, and try water activities like diving, snorkeling, sailing, and fishing excursions. Grace Bay Beach is the departure point for catamaran sails, snorkeling tours, day and sunset cruises, and more. – Tripadvisor

- JamaicanQueenHouston, Texas126 contributionsGrace Bay .....all the good stuffIm still thinking about this place and it's almost 9 months later . If that is a indication to come here . Stunning views magical island . Best sunsets hands down. I cant wait to return . It's worth the money to come to turks and caicos. If you are trying to decide between a hotel or Air BnB . It's a few con's to a BnB . If I go back I would stay in a hotel / Resort in the heart of Grace Bay , why because I love snorkeling and it's so much to see , and the water is much clearer and better coral reef . easier to walk to places or catch a cab . I rented a car and my nerves was bad by the end of the trip . I dont reccomend it . and I stayed 5 days and the time flew by . I cant wait to return this place is gorgeous . Also I went the end of April and the beach water is a little chilly to get in . If you want warm water go a month later .Visited April 2023Traveled with friendsWritten December 8, 2023

Unreal how beautiful this island is and the people couldn't be friendlier. The all inclusive was the way to go also. Saves so much time. Grace bay beach as well as the whole Providenciales area is highly over rated in our opinion. We visited many Caribbean islands and for the price of holidays in Provo you can find much better value, beach and location elsewhere. Staff in many resorts were highly reserved, very boring, quiet vibe of the entire area aimed to attract elderly crowd. Beach is always super windy and nothing special compared to neighboring islands with much nicer resorts, services and a fraction of the Provo cost. Would not return unless they start to match their prices according to their true value. Visited January 2020

I love beautiful beaches and have seen many.
Trunk Bay (St John’s USVI), Shoal Bay (Anguilla), Pink Sand Beach (Bahamas)
, Tulum Beach (Mexico), North Beach (Isla Mujeres), Maroma Beach (Secrets. Costa Maya), Paradise (Mykonos), Camps Bay (Capetown), Bora Bora Lagoon (St. Regis Hotel), Palm Beach (N of Sydney, Australia)
Grayton Beach (FL. Panhandle)!!!
Among all those jewels, I personally consider Grace Bay to be the most awesome!
It half moon type shape is beautiful, it’s shades of water colors breathtaking, its calm perfect for swimming, the character changes along its 8 + mile length wonderful...it just offers so many superlatives!
The several hour walk I did one day along its 8 mile length is unforgettable.
God willing, I’ll be able relive it again...and again.

We are sand baggers and sun chasers that have been to many islands and without a doubt, this is one of the loveliest and picturesque beaches we’ve come across, but there are some caveats to be aware of.
The section of beach with the Grace Bay beach parking (by AMA beach equipment rentals) had some of the whitest and softest sand that we found during our multiple visits. Without question if I were to rate a beach solely based on the color of water, softness and whiteness of sand, this would be five star and be at or near the top of my list of all-time.
But here is the catch, and it’s a big one. For public, non-resort visitors (such as locals), be aware that there are virtually no amenities available to you. Some beaches at other destination countries we’ve traveled offer good amenities, while others have the minimal/basic provisions, but there is usually SOMETHING for places that are popular/well-known. Of the three spots we’ve stopped along the beach, there were no restrooms, no showers, no rinse points, no wash buckets, and very few points of shade. You get the picture. There are some attendants who will offer their umbrellas and chairs for a price, or hopefully your rental unit will have some beach chairs and umbrellas which will help them out. We saw what looked like a rinse station and restrooms at the Bight Park section, but the plumbing was shot and the buildings were closed. Instead, there was an outhouse there. For visitors who wish to check out Grace Bay, please be aware that these sorts of comfort amenities really be extremely helpful to maximize the enjoyment of your stay. And doing business in the ocean should not count as an amenity :)
Generally, there are lots of kite surfers and parasailers so it is an indication of the amount of wind that frequently hits the beach. The tide isn’t quite as calm as Taylor Bay Beach, and does not make for the best of snorkeling especially around the coral reef that is protected (your experience may vary but we have snorkeled many many places and didn’t find it overly worthwhile). For those that wish to check this snorkel spot out, there are two public entrances to the beach by Windsong Resort and Coral Garden Resort. The preserve is enclosed by orange buoys, you are supposed to stay outside the perimeter from my understanding.
Overall, the beach itself delivered for what it was – without a doubt you will get your social media moment and friends will be envious you visited the Turks. However, be aware this comes at a cost unless you are staying at a private resort on the beach. The purpose of this review is to inform so as to not get your hopes up and to help you set your expectations.
Please indicate if you found this to be helpful as it will allow me to focus my future review efforts.

We stayed on Grace Bay, and The Sands. Grace bay is beautiful, our first night the water was rougher and lots of seaweed. But it cleared up, and calmed down our next trip down to the beach. It’s just so calm and peaceful, perfect for the little ones, there’s no worry of waves crashing on them while they build by the shore line. The water is amazing, an clear, crystal clear! Can see straight to the bottom.

Grace Bay Beach extends a lonnnggg way; it varies from being by all the resorts/condos to a national park. It is a beautiful color, very clear, and snorkeling is possible from the beach. Unfortunately, it was so windy the 10 days we were there, we never snorkeled. The National Park has restrooms, otherwise that is it for public facilities. Unless you are staying at one of the resorts/condos along the beach, access is somewhat limited.

Grace Bay Beach, in my opinion, is one of the top two beaches in all of Caribbean. Sand is powdered sugar soft; water is warm, clear and calm; and it stretches for miles. There’s a reason Grace Bay Beach is usually ranked in the top 5 beaches in the world. And it lives up to the hype.

The sugar-like sand and clear turquois water is a combination expected only in heaven! A little wave action to know you are in the ocean completes this experience. The hotels along this beach offer diverse and interesting cuisine at all price points. Within walking distance are phenomenal shops and even more restaurants. Make sure you have a snorkel and mask!!!

Grace Bay is an absolutely idyllic setting. Golden sand edging crystal clear blue water with gently lapping waves - it's what postcards were made for. Not suitable for surfing or highly active watersports, but for a gentle relaxing day enjoying oneself, it's hard to find a better place. Enjoy!

yes it's a nice beach, with nice, soft, clean sand, and beautiful blue and green water, and there's not a lot of commotion or vendors, etc. But, it's also so incredibly expensive to stay here and we have stayed places with better snorkeling, more fun beach food options, and less resorts and construction for significantly less money and had a much better time. There are plenty of beach access points if you aren't staying in one of the resorts, but the rest of the island isn't very pretty, the roads are terrible, the airport is terrible, there is construction everywhere, and even the week after thanksgiving it was so hot that you couldn't be outside unless you were in the water or in the shade. The coral reefs they have roped off also seem to be pretty well beached, compared to what we have seen in Belize or Cayman, as examples. We have recently stayed in Eleuthera, St. John, Virgin Gorda, and Belize, and I would rank all of them higher than TCI and Grace Bay. I prefer a quiet, unpopulated beach, and there are still a few sections of Grace Bay that are pretty empty, but those spots will soon be claimed by massive resorts as well. A nice beach, true, but not worth the astronomical prices and the hassles of the rest of the island.

When we saw Grace Bay Beach for the first time, it may have been what it seemed, in all those wonderful reviews proclaiming it the greatest beach in the world that only has to he seen to be believed. We parked our rental car, at a public parking spot and quickly jumped in that beautiful teal water and basked in the blistering hot sun, on that perfect white sand in what is called the “Most perfect beach in the world!”
We looked in the distance to our left and thought, maybe we will go there, where the resorts are and where we can have a nice fruity cocktail with french fries, like my girlfriend and I were so heavenly craving. And might be good to go to the bathroom too, we’ve been at this spot for a while and there is definitely not a public restroom in sight.
So we made our way further down the beach and quickly found a little beach shack serving drinks next to it. We walked up the tiny hill, only to find a security guard in a white T shirt, asking us if we were guests. No we answered. “We are not guests but do you know another restaurant we can go to nearby?” There was no answer and it was really hard to comprehend if she actually heard our question or if she was just shoeing us away like those cute little geckos roaming near the beach. We both realized we did something incredibly wrong. We were not guests!
GUEST
a word we were going to hear a lot of on Grace Bay Beach.
We walked a little further, hoping that walkway we saw next to the famous beach leads to restaurants, a place to chill and maybe even where we can meet a local or two. But as soon as we leave that beautiful white sand, we find another security guard, again in a white T shirt, telling us that we must be a guest to get on that path. In other words no bathroom, no fruity drinks, no french fries!
We started realizing that we didn’t have much of a chance doing anything aside from sitting on the beach with other western tourists staying at the resorts; those that have the privilege to go to the bathroom, eat french fries and have all the fruity cocktails they desire.
And those security guards in white T shirts, they pop up like pesky little fruit flies, not so different than they do when you leave open water melon, with an empty jar of honey and maybe some delicious apple juice open on your dining table back home.
So we gave up, and walked around the “greatest beach in the world”, with a full bladder, an empty stomach and a feeling like we were in the movie Titanic and we were Jack while everyone else, lying on those comfy lawn chairs and staying at those very fancy resorts with drinks in hand were Rose.
We gave in, we are leaving the greatest beach in the world, because there isn’t enough local culture for our taste, we simply we don’t belong and we seriously need to use a public restroom!

Hi, can you take a taxi to Smiths Reef? we didn't want to rent a car
Written February 7, 2024
You might be able to hire a private car while you're on TC, but I never saw cabs, at least the kind you're likely thinking of. Maybe your hotel or resort can arrange something? If you're staying anywhere on the NE shore of the island you can walk the sand all the way to Smith's reef, too.

We have rented a villa away from the beach and have a car ad well. Is there parking on Grace bay? Also, where do we rent beach chairs, umbrellas etc since we are not staying on any of the beachside resorts? Thanks :)
Written December 17, 2022
Yes, I noticed various car parks situated along the eastern portion of Grace Bay Beach. Particularly near Regent Village Shopping Center and beside Sibonne' Hotel. Most hotels has their own section of lounge chairs and umbrellas reserved.

My friends and I will be staying in a villa nearby. Grace Bay Beach is a short walk away. Any recommendations for who to rent lounge chairs/towels/umbrellas from? Who has great F&B service? Where should we steer clear?

Agree with Carla. We have stayed on Grace Bay at The Sands, Ocean Club West and Ocean Club. All of them have great and the lunch and dinner. We've tried many of the local restaurants and our favorites are Coco Bistro, Le Bouchon, Lupo and Via Veneto.

Hi, I'm torn as to which hotel to stay at with my husband and 2 children.
We will be renting a car but we would
like to be close to restaurants and shops ( a few minute drive isn't a big deal).
The only must is being in Grace Bay beach.
So my options are, Ocean Club West, The Sands, The atrium and Somerset.
I'm
Looking for someone on the beach or a very short walk to the beach.
Any feedback is appreciated

Hi - looking to head to T&C for a last-minute trip June 1st. Looks like the forecasts are showing rain. Is it usually rainy around this time or doesn’t it mean that there are those quick afternoon showers and then it is quickly sunny again? Thanks.
Written May 21, 2019
Sorry for the late response. I’ve been to the T&C many times and have never been bothered by rain. It’s usually a brief shower and then it’s over. Enjoy!

Best snorkeling from shore spot is Smith's reef, far west end of Grace bay. You will need a car to get there. The parking lot is down a small road past a few really nice houses that front the beach. You need to walk down the left side out to the point, then turn right to get out in front of the nice houses. Beach is public and very few people find their way out there. Reefs are within 200 ft of shore.

What is the best airline to get to this beautiful beach from DC ? Where is a reasonable priced resorts ? Never been to these islands but traveled to many others Caribbean islands

Southwest flies directly to Provo now with a likely stop in Fort Lauderdale. Ports of Call Resort was the best for the price- it was $330/night compared to most being double that
