Visited the gardens on an overcast morning with rain always threatening. What a surprise was in store for our group. The gardens are well laid out and containing many surprises. The climb to the topmost part of the garden is well worth the effort as the view is magnificent. The small cafe offers a nice selection of food well prepared... More

I would highly recommend a visit here, it has stunning gardens and things to see. It has a fantastic view point high up where you can see for miles around including holly lock. It takes about 2 and half hours to walk around but is stunningly beautiful. The cafe is very good too, well worth an enjoyable coffee, meal or slice... More

My husband and I spent the day here and it is amazing. I have never seen such huge trees! Really well laid out gardens with many different paths. The view point at the top of the gardens has a stunning view down to Holy Loch and Dunoon, and beyond to Ayrshire on a fine day. Be aware, some of the... More

These gardens are quite magnificent. There are many different aspects to these grounds that would be worthy of many trips. Most visitors would also enjoy the range of delicious snacks that are on offer all through the day. Breakfast rolls, freshly baked cakes and lunch dishes are freshly prepared and were enjoyed by my whole family.

Benmore is a botanic garden. It is just magnificent. A full tour would take all day, but you don't need all that. It is all beautiful, and natural. The fernery is an incredible Victorian era restored building, well worth the (easy) walk, though getting up to it would be a no-no for disabled I'm afraid. I know nothing about gardening... More

Even though the parking lot was pretty full the actual gardens were quite peaceful! We didn't get a chance to do the guided walk through the gardens but I think that would have been a really great way to learn more about the garden since it is so filled with history!

I spent a number of hours here, it wasn't difficult and I even ventured into the higher trails to make sure I did not miss anything. The gardens were just beautiful and so well looked after. I even saw a red squirrel, although he did not want his picture taken. The avenue of trees on all of the promotional literature... More

Amazing trees from other parts of the world with lots of botanical garden plants and information about the peninsula. There is a tea shop and gift shop

Really nice gardens, easily walkable for those with small children, has an easy route for wheelchair users (and prams) with harder routes for those wanting to get off the beaten track. The Fernery is stunning and the hike to it alone is absolutely outstanding. You can see for miles around from the top, would highly recommend.

There are quite of few lovely walks near by Dunoon with interesting trees and plants. This park is not free of charge and you have to check the opening times. Your tour will take you to foreign countries, you will be in Asia, South America or in Redwood country. The walks are well maintained. To know you have paid the... More
