The water wall is breathtaking well worth all the steps. We did it in the advertised time and are couple aged 50+ with very average fitness
We parked the car on the parking lot next to the beginning of the trail. After 200 meters we crossed the river via the little bridge from where a good view to the fall. Then the path went through the forest en started to go up wards, later turning into stairs, quite a challenge…
We really enjoyed this walk. The waterfall was lovely. However although the pathway was well maintained there were approximately 390 steps on the way up (approx 300 up steps and 90 down steps) so it may be challenging for those with weak knees or hearts!
Taking the Devils Punchbowl trek is a must if you are heading to Arthur's pass in Canterbury.. it was a small hike to Devils Punchbowl waterfall. Some call it brides Vail waterfall too. Easy hike with few steps.
Easy walk, some stairs but totally worth it. Great access to the waterfall and creek! Perfect for long exposure photography!!
