I stood there, looking what was happening. There was hot springs going up. We saw lots of hot springs. It was so beautiful. The ground was mostly red. This is gorgeous! It looks like an artist had painted the environment.

It is a nice viewpoint for the waterfall, but very crowded and far away. A good place for photos and overview of the area

Popular spot with an amazing view of the waterfall and canyon. Easy parking during our fall visit. 5 minute walk to the overlook. If you have to pick one stop at the canyon this would be it.

A nice spot to hike and see the falls. Wasn’t super busy when we were there. Easy walk. Convenient parking.

The colors here are beautiful and I can see how it got the name artist point. We could see animal trails in the red wall across from where we were standing. Many people here but worth the stop

That is difficult to answer/predict. The only reliable method is to watch the YNP website, under "alerts." Road closure and openings are usually announced.

Yes it is open, the construction is at Tom's Trail parking area. You will pass it on the way to Artists Point. The parking is limited, September will be easier....but I would still try to get there early. It has one of the... More
