A very interesting and enjoyable visit. We were shown round the building, seeing barrels of port and had a talk about production and the different types of port culminating in a tasting 😚

We had done several tours earlier so we were looking for just glasses of port. The service was good, the ports delicious and the prices all reasonable (as are all these spots on the river), depending how old you like your fortified wine. This location...More

Learned so much in a relatively short time about this awesome winery! Our tour guide, Ana, spoke really good and clear English. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, was able to answer all my questions, and even cracked a few jokes that made us all...More

Over the last five years we have visited most of the Port Cellars in Gaia. Calem was one of the few that we had not been to. English language tours take place three times a day. Mid-morning, midday and mid-afternoon. We were on the midday...More

The employees were so nice and had a great knowledge of port wine. I had the still white wine which was fantastic. My husband loved the tawny port 10 years.

Really enjoyed this informative, humorous and snappy tour. If you are someone who wants all the info and the wine this is perfect!! It was a super overview and going into too much depth can get boring as well. Make sure you book your slot...More

Porto Calem is one of the some wineries located in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the other river bank than Porto. It is a big winery and we decided to do a guided visit here. Pitifully, for me, the guided visit was too much turistic:...More

We booked a tour of the Calem wine cellar and a tasting. The tour was very interesting, both because of the impressive vats in the cellar and the clever use of projection. Before the start we had time to explore the museum, which was nice....More

Arriving after a long day’s travel, this was the first port house we found on the waterfront, but returned several times for a relaxing drink. High quality ports, but I was taken by the dry white wines. Excellent friendly service.

I think it is worth doing. I think we were in the building for about 90 minutes. There’s an interactive educational area before you go in for the tour and there were young children in thee who seemed entertained. There... More
