my husband and i visited Mizen head recently. We really enjoyed our visit and loved the walk up to the light house. My husband was especially surprised at the wonderful lay out of the place. We were lucky to have a dry day while we...More
Super visitors centre, Good shop with relevant stock!
Nice coffee shop and entry over the foot bridge joining the " mainland" to the island was spectacular.
Mizen head not to be missed , fantastic scenery, birding, raw nature
This place is amazing, we were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day for our trip to mizen head.
The centre is well laid out with plenty of info to read about the area.

This is a genuine must visit if you're in Cork or the southern part of Ireland! It's closer to get to than Cliffs of Moher and equally pretty! i've been twice and loved it!

Bit off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit. Views are stunning. If you’re lucky you might even see a dolphin or whale so take your binoculars with. (Sadly all we saw were fishing boats). Wear sensible shoes as it’s on an incline or...More
We drove out to Mizen Head on a windy, dull day. While I'm sure that the views on a sunny day are incredible, the windy conditions made our trip here even more exhilarating! The views of the cliffs and the noise of the Atlantic crashing...More
I cannot express acurately how beautiful Mizen Head is. There is a lovely visitor centre where you can purchase a pass to walk all the way out to the tip. Absolutely beautiful, breathtaking scenery. It almost doesn't seem real. Please do yourself a favor and...More

Wheelchairs can go fo the Signal Station over the Bridge but it is a steep hard push back. Some of the cliff paths are not accessible. They either have steps or are too steep. There is an observation platform which looks down over the Bridge to the Signal Station and also up the coast to the Beara Peninsula. There is a seat there. The path to that is flat. The Visitor Centre near the car park is accessible except for one room upstairs. The cafe and shop are accessible. There is an accessible toilet too. There is plenty to do and see. Enjoy your visit.
Hello - yes it is safe for children to walk . It may be a bit far for them to do all the walk . You can be selective though .
No drinks available on the walks. No toilets either once you have started!!
