Really lovely to walk to along the river, and lots of pride and care in the residences of Kampung Morten. There are some really lovely homes and the people kind.

We stayed at The Majestic which is located opposite Kampung Morten so we would often use the riverside walk through the Kampung to get to the centre of town. What a lovely location where people are obviously proud to live, very interesting to wander through...More

We walked here having read in a Lonely Planet Guide that there were walking tours at 4pm every Mon, Wed and Fri. Unfortunately no-one showed up at the allotted time so we self guided. I have to say that I was underwhelmed - perhaps it...More

Clean and cool this is a lovely walk through history and along the river. It was a very hot day but once you are near the water it cools down a bit. Beautiful flowers and plants to see along the way.

Not much to see, big deal, just another typical village, also what i don’t like is the people living there always gives people a kind of look as if they are threatening.

Very typical old style Malay houses, if you walk along the river from the centre you will find these houses. It’s worth it to take a walk along and see the differences.

This small area which we called "Kampong" or village is quite nice to walk in late afternoon. Most of the houses are typical Malay houses and some of them have been used as homestay. The area is small with only one big road and two...More

Worth a wander, was set up 100 years ago and today you get a chance to see how the other half used to live. Probably better to go later in the day as it was pretty quiet when we were there. Enjoy.....
