A beautiful old building of historical significance with some grand interiors and pleasant grounds situated in a dominant position beside the lake which incorporates the Temple of the Tooth. Worth a visit but nothing special.

It was the seat of the last king of Srilanka. You can visit it while visiting the sacred tooth temple as they located in the same complex. For SAARC nationals entry fee is lower than other foreigners.

The Royal Palace, or what remains of it, can be accessed from the temple of the tooth relic. There is not much to do but it is worth the visit
