- BMESingapore, Singapore224 contributionsGreat Experience - Great Service!Brought my mom & wifey to visit Royal Selangor and was very impressed with the personalized tour by the young lady & boy (can't remember their name). They were very accommodative and patiently answer our questions. At the end of the tour, I decided to buy one of the beautiful products and the staff especially Dayang & Cristal were also very friendly. They also happily did a gift wrapping when I told them I'm buying a gift for my mom. I find it a very nice gesture and I truly appreciate such efforts. Well done Team Royal Selangor. You made our day!Visited March 2023Traveled with familyWritten March 19, 2023

The staff were polite and welcoming, and was available to give us a guided tour within 5 minutes. The young tour guide, Poh, was very professional and knowledgeable. The whole place was elegantly presented, products in the show room have a huge variety, and the pecan cake in the Cafe was delicious. Dont miss the Pewter beer mug at the entrance...huge and heavy ! The walk around the display gallery was beautiful, each artefact made of pewter including dinner sets, wine glass set, several portraits, marvel miniatures and so on. They have a small and cozy cafe inside - you can rest before you head out for your tours. Overall an amazing experience.Visited May 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 3, 2023

Trip was organised very last minute, and on a bit of a whim, but we had a great time. There is a small, but free and informative, museum and science section, and it's also great to be able to see the factory and some of the methods used in producing the products.
We were assisted by an extremely polite employee, Hoe Nam, who helped us to book onto an activity on the day (School of Hard Knocks - where another great employee, Gordon, helped us create our own pewter bowls), and then also helped us purchase a few gifts for friends, before arranging a free transfer back to our hotel
All in all, a great way to spend a few hours in an interesting factory, run by some great employees

The Batu Caves tour stopped here for twenty minutes. A guide took us on a tour of the factory and the history of the manufacturing process. Very interesting. The showroom at the end of the tour has a wide display of finished products like household goods, jewellery. Worth a visit and worth owning a piece of this special metal, that can be handed down the generations.

Have fun here with your family for short 2 or 3 hours.
Start with pewter museum tour with no admission fee. You may walk in as usually there is no queue at the entrance. The tour will have English speaking guide that excitingly explain all the details and history of the Royal Selangor and pewter in Kuala Lumpur. The tour is fun and informative. You will visit multiple halls that being arranged nicely. During the tour also, will go visit the factory and being explain on the process of making the pewter end products. In the middle of the tour, you also being offered some cold drinks inside small pewter pitcher but you can't bring the pitcher back with you, please return it back =). After done with the tour, you will end at the souvenir shop/ cafe at the lower ground of the building. Then you may choose either to attend workshop session (with some fee) or take some time to enjoys the cafe. The cakes and coffee there are yummy. My family joined the school of Hard Knocks Workshop and have fun knocking and personalize the pewter bowl. You can bring home the pewter bowl, apron and certificate after completed the workshop. Adult or kid really have fun in the workshop. Highly recommended to come and visit this place.

Joined a free tour providing a quick history of the company and demonstration of how the products are crafted. Our guide Jessmyn was cheerful and knowledgeable, and all the staff seemed to be incredibly well-trained and friendly. We also opted to craft our own pewter bowl at the School of Hard Knocks (RM75) which was a fun and simple activity which I’d highly recommend (might wanna bring earplugs, it gets a bit loud with all the hammering going on). Finally we had a quick walk through the shop to admire all the beautiful works of craftsmanship. What a great way to spend an hour in KL!

Pleasantly surprised - we wanted to just visit batu caves but the guide added on this visitor centre which the kids loved. The tour didn’t last long but interesting stories and beautiful pieces of art and pieces to buy. Shame it was so expensive as I’d loved to have take one or two items home

What a life!?! the best things in life are free, indeed!!!
First time to experience being welcome by the tour guide the moment you enter the museum and guide you through as well which are the top choices at the Café.
As the tour guide knowledgeably stating the important persons, dates and events and Narrating how did it all begin, about the foundation of Royal Selangor, the Founder, first Pewter smiths, the family and the connections.
Showcasing the magnificent and finest collections of products, exquisitely and manually molded. You'll learn the processes from compound or raw preparation, melting, polishing and finishing.
Recommendable and worth as much time as you have available!

There are no admission fee, but do register before entry so you will get a tour guide who will briefly explain to you on the displays. Shout out to our tour guide, Jasmyn (sorry if the spelling is wrong), she was superb! Patiently answered our questions and made the experience fun throughout the tour. There are workshops that you can join with a fee, can check with the staff for the charges.

We did a walk in and they have people to give us an English guided tour around the facilities and museum. We later found out that they provide transportation to major hotels for free. The tour and museum is free, however we paid to do foundry and knocking classes which was fun for our kids. We made a few pewters to take home.
We dealt with Poh (tour guide) and Hafiz (the instructor). Both are professional and knowledgable. I would recommend this tour.

Join the free guided tour with my family, we were served by Tracy, an English speaking guide who is very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour is really fun and informative as we get to visit the museum to learn about the history and look at the preserved pewter. The Science Discovery Gallery allowed us to play along as well. The most memorable experience is the Live Craftmanship Showcase which we were able to watch how the well-trained pewtersmiths craft each products (and we also have the chance to try on!). This is definitely a must-visit place in Selangor!
