Allied prisoners of war during World War II were forced to build the 258-mile Death Railway by Japanese forces. About a hundred thousand conscripted Asian labourers and 16,000 prisoners of war died on the whole project.

Visited the famous bridge at night and walked over to the other side and back. Nice and cool and not nearly as crowded as during the day and you don't have to be cautious of the train that goes over the bridge during the day either.

Nowadays it’s just another rail bridge, which is open to public, it does have historical importance with connection to world war and prisoners of war. Good for history buffs, decent attraction for the rest.
