First of all, this place is doing fabulous work and deserves your donations, but it's also a great visit. It's one of the few reputable rescues in the area. They post specific tour times, but were happy to accommodate us when we showed up. We...More

While visiting Iquitos a boat ride to the PB-Farm is a definite must do! The boat ride alone is fantastic and then to experience PBF is amazing! Lots more than butterflies however they are the showcase for sure! I would visit here again!

Myself and my boyfriend absolutely loved this place!! We got a boat from the Bella-Vista harbour, we believe we were over charged (10 sol per person each way) but it was only us on the boat and the driver waited at the rescue centre to...More

This place was really depressing. To call it an 'Animal Rescue' is misleading as the animals are cramped into a very confined space and extremely stressed. The space allotted to each animal was even smaller than in most zoos!! Please do not support the torture...More

I have visited the “Butterfly Farm” many times and I have never been disappointed. The tours are led by “interns” who have a deep love for and appreciation for the richness of the jungle insect and animals, treat the animals with love and gentle care...More

A well-run centre, a short distance from Iquitos town (about 20 mins by collectivo boat - 3s per way), which is working hard to house animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade, and to educate people to be more aware and vigilant in the future...More

As soon as we arrived we where greeted by the friendly volunteers who where very knowledgeable and passionate about the care of the animals. They shared many horrific stories of how these animals where previously treated. Most of the animals are free but some are...More

Had a great time at Pilpintuwasi. 3 of us had a guide round the place who was from Luxembourg and very knowledgeable about the butterflies and the other animals. Lots of the animals are brought there when they are rescued and are not allowed to...More

You nicht be able if you start very early. The waterlevel is very low and you cannot get directly by boat to monkey island nor Pilpintuwasi. You'd have to take a speedboat to monkey island.
