The building is an old colonial French one and it's beautiful. The Museum does not contain many artifacts and the displays are a bit old. Nevertheless it is very interesting to have a quick idea about the historical evolution of the Vietnamese society. Some works...More

Being in Vietnam you are always appreciative of an air conditioned museum! Fascinating historical artefacts and information. We went with 3 teenage boys and found things that interested them too!

This Museum is dedicated to the struggle of Vietnamese people to free themselves from the yolk of colonialism. The story begins in the late 19th century with the French takeover and continues to almost the current day. Notwithstanding the obvious propaganda, which is not excessive,...More

As a private collector of mid to late 15th century Vietnamese ceramics from the Hoi An shipwreck I would find myself examining this extraordinary collection with thoughts of awe constantly interrupted by thoughts of my own version of “Oceans 8” being played out. 🤷‍♂️😂 In...More

I have seen some mediocre reviews of this museum. It sometimes makes me sad when people judge a museum like this from the perspective of their home country's institutions. For a country that has been at war with someone for most of it's history, it...More
