This is the most honest and therefore respectful of all the war monuments on the Mall. I bring visitors here regularly. One can feel how very hard the war was because one can feel the individual soldiers and == also their bond.
This memorial was the most profound to us. We actually saw it at night in the rain and with all of their rain ponchos on it actually made it come to life for us!
