My first visit to the Great Barrier Reef was an exhilarating one. The sea plane ride over the greener than green coral reefs and whiter than white sandy beaches cannot be compared with any other. The only regret was that we couldn’t land on one...More

Visited Saturday 22nd September. You need to include the Whitsunday Islands on your list of things to do and make sure you allow time to go for a walk on the white sand or a swim in the clear blue waters while you are there.

Well worth a trip with stunning views and beaches. Sand doesn't burn and saw plenty of wildlife. Slight uphill walk to photo point and to see other side of the island but very lovely.

Whitsundays – We took a boat trip to the Whitsunday Islands and entered the inlet to Whitehaven Beach, known as the beach of shifting sands. It looked glorious from sea level with various coloured water and waves surrounded by huge granite outcrops (a bit like...More

We were lucky on this trip to say the least as we got to swim with manta rays! Beautiful corals and fishes. Some sharks and stingrays by whithaven beach. If you need a peeling for your feet, whithaven beach is the place to go ;)

So far the white heaven beach is the nicest beach I've been to. The sand is truly different, looks different, feels different. The water was lovely, however I would recommend going when it's not stingers season. It's much nicer for swimming without a suit. The...More
