About
Founded by Greek colonists, the ancient city of Poseidonia dates from 600 B.C. It was abandoned for centuries, but the remarkably well-preserved Greek temples were excavated in the mid-18th century.

The best part of this ruin were the three very well preserved temples. We were able to actually walk in the temple to Poseidon. I’ve seen Greek temples before but have never seen one this much in tact. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting.
