This Piazza is located at the top of this beautiful hilltop town and is one of the relatively flat areas in Montepulciano. The Piazza is not significantly large although on one of our visits they were setting up a small stage for an open air...More
This austere and elegant piazza is the kind of space people often think of as being quintessentially Tuscan. With the grey stone of the Duomo and the town hall as a backdrop it's an excellent place to sit for a coffee or lunch. It can...More

We loved seeing the Piazza Grande after seeing is so often the the Netflix series, The Medicis. Montepulciano was frequently featured in the series because of the resemblance to Renaissance Florence. Beautiful hill town with lots to see and do. Great restaurants!

Hi - There is basically one main street up - and up and up and up - hahaha Wear good sneakers! Take the main road up and stop along the way at all the cute shops and places that let you taste wine for FREE. If you have a guide book (Rick Steves is my favorite) you can just follow along as you go and learn about everything you see along the way. You will love it. Have a great time.

We had a great experience using a company in Cortona for our visits around Tuscany. “Together in Tuscany”. Check out their website and contact them. They will do a great job putting visits around the area together for you.
