My husband, son and I visited the costume museum which was well documented and really interesting, with staged clothing in areas of the Netherlands throughout history. At the same location was the photographic part which was great fun- dressing up, finding the correct size clothes...More

If the honest answer is "no", this museum probably isn't for you. Great museums can convert you into a fan of the subject area, so you leave thinking "who knew xxxxxx was so interesting!?" I don't think the costume museum does this, but if you...More

The question is...why do you visit a museum with traditional costumes when you're not interested in this theme and history. It's not fair to visit musea and attractions which is not your kind of thing and then give very low review stars.

Wonderful museum! Interesting exhibition about the fisherman's sweaters. The permanent collection was beautiful, lots with lots of information about the different types of traditional Dutch clothing.  An audiotour would have been nice.

We almost walked past this quaint shop, but saw that they took authentic costume photos. Our photographer was kind and professional. She took several photos and emailed / printed them. Our family photo is a keepsake to remind us of Amsterdam.

Clothing by region instead of international styles. I really enjoyed the temporary exhibition on Fisherman Sweaters. I believe it is on until the end of September 2019

This is a small museum in an old canal house in Amsterdam so it does not take long to get around Interesting and informative with friendly staff at hand . Nice little shop to buy trinkets, cards and bits of traditional stuff.

I arrived at approximately 1100hrs and I was the only customer. The photographer rushed me to take the photo and to change the costume thereafter. She made me feel unwelcome and as though she wanted to get rid of me as quickly as possible. I...More
